Katie ate up the crowd at Queen's - she really embraced them and they love her.

She's got a great game for the surface. She's got a big serve, flat, hard groundstrokes, keeps it low and I think by having such a great event at Queens is really going to help her confidence.

    *Boulter 1-3 Grant

It's not the start Katie Boulter would have wanted as the British number two's serve is broken early by Italian teenager Tyra Grant.

Grant then consolidates the break, wrapping the game up with an ace.

I am so excited to see Serena back.

She waited to grab that singles wildcard at the last moment, she hasn't played in four years so I think the curiosity factor is just off the charts. How well is she going to play? She's won Wimbledon seven times, 44-years-old, two-time mum and she said that's one of the reasons she came back to play was to show her daughters.

She has been training very, very hard and I think her draw is very fortunate in Maya Joint.

Our first focus today is British women's number two Katie Boulter, who is taking on Italy's Tyra Grant on court three.

Boulter comes into Wimbledon in good form, having beaten number two seed Elena Rybakina at Queen's earlier this month, before defeat by Donna Vekic in the semi-finals.

Ranked 60th in the world, 29-year-old Boulter is the favourite to beat Grant, who is ranked 172nd and competing in her first Grand Slam at the age of 18.

What a moment for Katie Swan. She's up first on Court 16, making her first Wimbledon appearance in three years.

She's had a tough time of it in recent years, with a back injury derailing her career and making her contemplate an early retirement.

But after undergoing "excruciating" treatment in early 2025, Swan has been able to stay on court and slowly make her way back in the world's top 200.

"It’s hard to explain how much it means to me to receive a main draw wildcard for this year’s Wimbledon Championships," the 27-year-old posted on Instagram last week.

"I love this sport so much and although it hasn’t been an easy road for me, I’m glad that little girl didn’t give up."

  8. And then there were ninepublished at 11:03 BST 30 June

After 10 Britons exited on day one, the record of 16 first-round defeats for home players at Wimbledon is in danger.

There are nine more Brits in singles action today, hoping they can avoid breaking the unwanted record which was set in 1988.

First up is British women's number two Katie Boulter, who faces Italian Tyra Grant at 11:00 BST on court three.

Wildcard Katie Swan faces Romanian veteran Irina-Camelia Begu at the same time on court 16.

Men's number two Jan Choinski, Jacob Fearnley, Arthur Fery, Toby Samuel, Billy Harris and Harry Wendelken are also in action later.

Good morning and welcome to day two at Wimbledon.

We've got eight Britons in singles action today, as well as defending women's champion Iga Swiatek.

But the big news of course, is the return of 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams, at the age of 44.

    Let's get to it.
