You might have noticed that Norway's number one and talisman Casper Ruud isn't playing this evening.

Ruud, ranked 13th in the world, withdrew from the tie to spend time with his newborn daughter, who was born on 30 January.

That helps tilt the tie in Great Britain's favour as it leaves Nicolai Budkov Kjaer - the world number 133 - as the highest-ranked singles player in the squad.

More from Jack Draper: "It's nice to come back to Oslo, I love Oslo. I remember playing here when I was 11 or 12 years old. It's very cold but it's a special feeling to be back here and I'm excited for what's to come."

  4. 'It's been a really difficult time'published at 18:30 GMT 5 February

    Durasovic 2-6 2-6 Draper

Here's what Jack Draper had to say after that dominant victory over Viktor Durasovic: "It's really good to play here in Oslo, to have my first match in a long time, to get a first point on the board for Great Britain. I haven't played Davis Cup in a long time so it's good to be here and proud of my performance today."

On what it's taken to get back playing: "Hard work, perseverance, it's been a really difficult time since I've been away from the sport. I knew I had to keep on practising my hardest and learn about myself. That's the hard work no-one sees. When I come back, hopefully I am able to play some top tennis again."

Well that was quick, wasn't it? One hour exactly.

It might have been against the world number 313, but that's not a bad way for Jack Draper to return after more than five months out injured.

Superb from the British number one. Five months out of match play and he showed no hesitation. That was very impressive.

Jack Draper has many familiar faces on the team bench for his comeback to tennis.

It is unusual that a personal coach accompanies a player to Davis Cup ties, but Jamie Delgado is here - and it’s the first time he has watched his new charge play a competitive match.

Delgado is sitting next to Draper’s former coach James Trotman. The two are good friends, and Trotman remains an important part of the LTA coaching team.
