Botic van de Zandschulp keeps Novak Djokovic honest, chasing lost causes and swinging freely safe in the knowledge that he will at least play a tie-break in this third set.

At 30-30, the Dutchman produces some incredible defence to stay in the point and Djokovic nets.

    A set point...

    Van de Zandschulp 3-6 4-6 6-5 Djokovic*

A look to the sky (or more accurately, the roof) from Novak Djokovic as his attempt at a slice backhand down the line only just drifts wide. That would have brought up 30-30, but instead it's 40-15.

Then Djokovic goes long and gives up the game.

Botic van de Zandschulp is guaranteed at least a tie-break in set three.

Novak Djokovic holds to love again, with Botic van de Zandschulp unable to make any sort of impression on the fourth seed's serve in recent attempts.

Djokovic does some twists to try to keep his upper body loose as he prepares for his next return game.

He'll be desperate to get this wrapped up without going to a fourth set.

You can see why Novak Djokovic was grumpy not taking his opportunities in the second set to finish off quickly.

Botic van de Zandschulp is dangerous, he can flash winners and you're never totally comfortable with him.

    Swiatek 6-1 1-6 6-1 Kalinskaya

It was another messy performance from Iga Swiatek, who is trying to complete the career Grand Slam in Melbourne.

She hit 29 unforced errors to 24 winners, dropped serve three times in the second set, and had to save three break points as she struggled to close out the match.

Novak Djokovic rolled his ankle for a fraction of a second there and went down to grab it.

He quickly realised it was nothing more than a little jerking motion and caught the edge of his shoe.

He went down pretty quickly there and almost banged the side of his knee, he might have a little bruise on the side there.

  14. 'I didn't like I was playing worse in the second set'published at 10:06 GMT 24 January

    Swiatek 6-1 1-6 6-1 Kalinskaya

Second seed Iga Swiatek following her three-set win over Anna Kalinskaya: "It's not surprising for me because I know Anna can play amazing tennis. I didn't feel like I was playing worse in the second set. I feel she played 'in' all of the balls that went out in the first. I wanted to focus on myself, no matter what was going on at the other end. The momentum changed for sure."

On facing Australian qualifier Maddison Inglis in round four following Naomi Osaka's withdrawal: "I don't know what my reaction should be. Hopefully, Naomi is well. She was playing great - I saw from the scores.

"It's exciting to be in the fourth round again. Guys [speaking to the crowd], hopefully you're not going to be harsh on me playing an Australian. A lot of Polish flags here, so please make it even!"

Oh dear - Novak Djokovic takes a tumble at the back of the court and takes a little while to get back to his feet.

He was attempting to push off his right foot but didn't have it quite planted properly. He seems to be OK but that could have been a whole lot worse.

The trainer treated Botic van de Zandschulp for a shoulder complaint during the second set and is out on court again at the change of ends - this time for Djokovic.

Looks like he might have a blister on the base of his right foot.

    This time indeed!

She drags Anna Kalinskaya corner to corner across the baseline and although the ailing 31st seed manages to spoon her forehand back into court, Iga Swiatek rushes the net and hammers home a forehand volley.

The second seed is through in three sets but it was not at all convincing.

What has Botic van de Zandschulp got left? Enough to trouble the 24-time Grand Slam champion?

He holds serve at the start of set three.

Small steps at the bottom of a very tall mountain that he has to climb if he's going to extend his stay at this year's Australian Open.
