    Aryna Sabalenka says her mentality is "trophy or nothing" as she maintained her pursuit of a third Australian Open title in four years with a dominant quarter-final victory over teenager Iva Jovic.

    World number one Sabalenka overpowered rising American star Jovic 6-3 6-0 and awaits either third seed Coco Gauff or Ukraine's Elina Svitolina in the semi-finals.

    The 27-year-old Belarusian, a four-time major singles champion, has made the semi-final stage at 14 of the past 17 majors she has contested.

    Meanwhile, in the men's singles, German third seed Alexander Zverev awaits Carlos Alcaraz or Alex de Minaur in the semi-finals after defeating American Learner Tien 6-3 6-7 (5-7) 6-1 7-6 (7-3).

    The men's and women's second seeds advanced safely through to the quarter-finals with straight-set wins.

    Defending champion Jannik Sinner beat Luciano Darderi 6-1 6-3 7-6 (7-2) but had a couple of wobbles in the third set. Iga Swiatek, meanwhile, beat Australian qualifier Maddison Inglis 6-0 6-3.

    Madison Keys' title defence ended in the fourth round as the ninth seed lost to fellow American Jessica Pegula - the sixth seed - 6-3 6-4. Pegula will face fourth seed Amanda Anisimova, who beat Xinyu Wang in straight sets, in the last eight.

    Fifth seed Elena Rybakina is through to a Grand Slam quarter-final for the first time since Wimbledon in 2024 after beating Elise Mertens 6-1 6-3.

    In the men's singles, fifth seed Lorenzo Musetti beat American ninth seed Taylor Fritz 6-2 7-5 6-4 to set up a quarter-final against 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic, who received a walkover when Jakub Mensik withdrew.

    Ben Shelton will face Sinner after he battled back from a set down to defeat Norway's Casper Ruud 3-6 6-3 6-4 6-3.

    Two singles quarter-finals are coming up in the evening session on Rod Laver Arena.

    Women's third seed Coco Gauff will be in action against Elina Svitolina, the 12th seed, from 08:00 GMT.

    That match will be followed by men's top seed Carlos Alcaraz against Australian sixth seed Alex de Minaur.
