    Former Australian Open winner Stan Wawrinka, asked how he feels after a marathon second-round win over Arthur Gea: "Exhausted!

    "As I told you, it's my last Australian Open so I'm trying to last as long as possible.

    "Not only did I have fun, but the crowd gave me so much energy. I'm not young any more so I need your energy and I need extra energy from you.

    "It's an amazing feeling to be on this court and to have so much support. It was a long match and I don't know how I'm going to recover, but I'm super happy."

    Stan Wawrinka is the first man aged 40 or over to reach the third round of a Grand Slam in singles since Ken Rosewall at the 1978 Australian Open.

    It's the first time he's won two matches in a row at a Grand Slam since the 2023 US Open and the first time he's advanced to the third round in Melbourne since 2020.

    She's over-eager and sends the break point long but she gets another shot and has has better luck on the next one for an early advantage in the decider.
