We have the same situation as the second set but it feels different.

[In set two] it never felt that Nava was in the position to go through the open door - but the way he is carrying himself and has played in the last few games, it feels like he is the favourite to take this to a fourth set.

    Norrie 6-1 7-6 (7-3) 4-5 Nava*

Cameron Norrie is keen to extend this set though.

He is known for his five-set thrillers, but of course he would prefer to close this out as soon as possible.

He serves and rallies through to hold to 15. He is finding a lot of joy when he manages to pin Emilio Nava to the baseline.

Emilio Nava moves to within one game of taking this second-round match into a fourth set.

The American has been here before though, so who knows what to expect from here on out!

He will be happy with the fight he is showing though, with the third qualifying round being his previous tournament best.

Now then! After losing seven games on the trot, Maria Sakkari wins three in a row and breaks back against Mirra Andreeva.

This match looked like it was heading one way and one way only, but there's suddenly a glimmer of hope left for Sakkari.

Her body language has completely changed and she's looking pumped up and confident now.

Alexander Zverev has secured the first set as he seeks a place in the third round.

The German third seed won four games in a row to take the opener against Frenchman Alexandre Muller 6-3, clinching his first set point after earning back-to-back breaks of serve.

A reminder that the winner of this match will await Cameron Norrie or Emilio Nava.

Another edgy service game but Cameron Norrie gets an important service hold.

The British number two is forced all the way to deuce but Emilio Nava commits another unforced error on his forehand.

I did say the American would need to gee himself up and I reckon just about everyone at Melbourne Park will be able to hear his shouts at the minute.

Things are getting to Maria Sakkari. She's furious with herself for attempting a down-the-line winner rather than going for an easier shot and making sure she finds the court.

"Just play free" her coach is telling her as Mirra Andreeva wraps up the hold.

An absolute lifeline for Emilio Nava!

The American is the first to pull away in this third set after forcing Cameron Norrie's service game to deuce.

He had two chances to break and took it on the second after the Brit tried to squeeze a backhand past him at the net.

    Game on.

A sublime first set for Mirra Andreeva, who grabs a bagel against Maria Sakkari.

If she continues on like this, it would be a huge statement to other top 10 seeds about her title credentials in Melbourne.

    Norrie 6-1 7-6 (7-3) 2-1 Nava*

We are still on serve in this third set.

German third seed Alexander Zverev is under way in his second-round match against Frenchman Alexandre Muller, with that one on serve in the first set.

Home hope Alex de Minaur, seeded sixth in Melbourne, is also in the early stages of his meeting with against Serb Hamad Medjedovic.

  20. Norrie holdspublished at 08:35 GMT 21 January

    Norrie 6-1 7-6 (7-3) 1-0 Nava*

Another strong service game from Cameron Norrie. He holds after being forced to deuce.

The Brit is serving with plenty of power and hitting his spots at the minute.

His first-serve percentage is sitting at 66% which is good but slightly lower than I expected.
