We have lift off on court seven!

Cameron Norrie and Emilio Nava have made there way back on to court after the rain delay.

They will have an opportunity to warm up again before continuing this fourth set tie-break.

They are currently practicing their serves.

Alexander Zverev has taken the third set to regain control of his match against Frenchman Alexandre Muller.

The German third seed returned to court following the rain delay and served it out after breaking for a 4-2 lead before the players had to leave the court.

Has he finally backed Muller into a corner?

  3. De Minaur double break up in third setpublished at 10:53 GMT 21 January

    *De Minaur 6-7 (5-7) 6-2 4-0 Medjedovic

The rain delay has not slowed Alex de Minaur's momentum.

The Australian number one is storming to the third set on Rod Laver Arena as he secures a double break for a 4-0 lead.

That's 10 of the last 12 games he has now won against Serbia's Hamad Medjedovic since the first set tie-break. Impressive stuff.

What's more boring, watching paint dry or watching a court dry?

That's what I'm currently doing as we wait for play to restart on court seven.

There has been a monumental effort to dry this court and it is looking a lot better already. There are still a few damp patches, but there doesn't seem to be any rain falling at the minute.

The slight rain delay on Rod Laver Arena doesn't seem to have bothered home favourite Alex de Minaur.

The sixth seed has just gone a break up early in the third set against Serbia's Hamad Medjedovic.

He is now on serve and 40-30 up.

  7. The action resumes... indoorspublished at 10:28 GMT 21 January

The players are back out under the roof on Rod Laver Arena, where Alex de Minaur will resume his bid for a place in the third round after levelling his match at one set apiece against Hamad Medjedovic.

There's still a bit of moisture on the court on John Cain Arena, so there could be a bit of a wait to continue there, with Alexander Zverev closing in on a 2-1 lead against Alexandre Muller.

On Margaret Court Arena, Frances Tiafoe is back under way against Francisco Comesana, with that match on serve in the first set.

Classic Melbourne. The dark clouds had whizzed past overhead for a while, but the downpour went from 0-60 in a second.

Norrie and Nava cowered under towels and sun-brollies for a few minutes while the chair umpire checked the forecast. Then came the bad news.

Looks like the rain is set for the best part of an hour, but you'd imagine the players would rather see if they can stick it out tonight.

With floodlights on all courts at Melbourne Park, they can play until they need to. So no chance of them calling it a night yet.

    Time for a warming cuppa...

  9. Paolini in frontpublished at 10:17 GMT 21 January

The top 10 women's seeds all remain in the tournament on day four in Melbourne.

And, on current evidence, that looks as though it should b the case at the start of day five.

That's because Italian seventh seed Jasmine Paolini is a break to the good at 4-1 up against Poland's Magdalena Frech.

Paolini hasn't had it all her own way. She had to see off three break points to hold for a 2-1 lead, and three more to back up her breakthrough.

  10. Zverev up a break in set threepublished at 10:13 GMT 21 January

    *Zverev 6-3 4-6 4-2 Muller

Alexander Zverev hits the front for a second time in set three.

The world number three, a runner-up here last year, forced the breakthrough for a 3-1 lead in the third set but Alexandre Muller responded immediately.

However, Zverev manages to sneak back in front just before the rain begins to fall in Melbourne.

When able, he'll return to the court serving for a 5-2 lead.

  11. Play suspendedpublished at 10:07 GMT 21 January

    *Norrie 6-1 7-6 (7-3) 4-6 6-6 (4-3) Nava

The referee has just announced that the players will be heading back inside and play has officially been suspended.

There doesn't seem to be an imminent prospect of a restart here either.

    We'll keep you updated.

The court is absolutely covered in rain but both players are still out on court for now.

They have taken cover under some parasols - quite ironic really.

  13. Game and second set - De Minaurpublished at 10:03 GMT 21 January

    De Minaur 6-7 (5-7) 6-2 Medjedovic

To the delight of the vast majority of those inside Rod Laver Arena, Alex de Minaur levels the match.

After finally finding a way to break down Hamad Medjedovic's serve in the sixth game, De Minaur sets up three set points on his opponent's serve and takes the third.

With that four-game streak, there's no denying there's been a significant momentum shift over the past 20 minutes in this one.

Great Britain's Katie Boulter, knocked out of the women's singles yesterday, is among those hoping he can push on to victory from here.

    Well this is annoying.

The heavens have opened and play has ground to a halt mid tie-break.

It is heavy rain to be fair, but both players are still out on court in case it passes.

    Norrie 6-1 7-6 (7-3) 4-6 6-6 (3-3) Nava*

It's all square at the change of ends.

Emilio Nava produces a huge second serve and some powerful hitting, topped off with a forehand winner down the line, to draw level in this seven-point tie-break.

    Norrie 6-1 7-6 (7-3) 4-6 6-6 (2-0) Nava*

The first two points go the way of 26th seed Cameron Norrie!

As a reminder, he is the last Brit standing in the men's singles draw after Arthur Fery's straight-set defeat by Tomas Etcheverry earlier today.

  17. Nava holds to force tie-breakpublished at 09:57 GMT 21 January

    *Norrie 6-1 7-6 (7-3) 4-6 6-6 (0-0) Nava

Well we are going the distance yet again in this fourth set.

Emilio Nava races to a hold to love and forces a second seven-point tie-break in this second-round encounter.

Who will come out on top? Let's find out.

There is the breakthrough for Alex de Minaur!

And how he has been made to work for that.

With the backing of the home support on Rod Laver Arena, the Australian number one eventually ends a nine-minute game with his sixth break point to breach Serbian Hamad Medjedovic's serve.

After losing a first-set tie-break, it puts him on course to level the match. Approaching 9pm local time, nobody is leaving this night session early.

  19. Norrie holdspublished at 09:55 GMT 21 January

    Norrie 6-1 7-6 (7-3) 4-6 6-5 Nava*

The unforced errors are creeping in again for Emilio Nava.

He gifts a couple of points to Cameron Norrie, helping the Brit on his way to a 40-15 service hold.

The pair have surpassed three hours on court now. Will the British number two break serve to claim his third-round spot?

  20. Nava holdspublished at 09:52 GMT 21 January

    *Norrie 6-1 7-6 (7-3) 4-6 5-5 Nava

Emilio Nava wastes no time in claiming a 40-15 service hold.

He clenches his fist in the direction of his coaching box.

He wants to keep the tempo of this second-round match up.
