  1. Tough start for Kecmanovicpublished at 13:35 BST 29 June

    Sinner v Kecmanovic

Miomir Kecmanovic matched his joint-best run of reaching round three at last year's Wimbledon but his hopes of getting beyond the opening round this year are pretty slim.

As far as assignments go for the Serbian, it doesn't come tougher.

Kecmanovic has lost his previous four meetings with Sinner, including a straight set defeat in the third round at Wimbledon in 2024.

  2. 'Hard to get any rhythm against Ostapenko'published at 13:34 BST 29 June

    Ostapenko 4-1 Dart*

    Martina Navratilova
Nine-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC Two

It is just so hard to get into a rhythm against Jelena Ostapenko because she does go big or she misses.

It is hard to get any kind of rhythm against her, both on her serves and on her groundstrokes.

  3. Zheng holdspublished at 13:34 BST 29 June

    Zheng 6-5 Norrie*

Cameron Norrie angrily practices a stroke after an unforced error before Michael Zheng wins a neat exchange at the net with a lobbed volley.

Zheng wraps up the game with a fine backhand down line to hold and for the first time in this match, Norrie is now under a bit of pressure.

It had all been a bit quiet on Court One, but not now. A forehand winner down the line from Harriet Dart gets the first big cheer of the day and there's an even bigger one a few moments later as the Briton breaks.

Still plenty of work to do, but signs of encouragement for Dart.

  5. Sinner to servepublished at 13:33 BST 29 June

    Sinner v Kecmanovic

Miomir Kecmanovic gets his first win of the afternoon with the coin toss and elects to receive first in this opening round tie.

Jannik Sinner, of course, will be eager to make a statement after a disappointing second round exit at the French Open a month ago.

  6. Ostapenko and Dart trade breakspublished at 13:33 BST 29 June

    Ostapenko 4-1 Dart*

It was all Jelena Ostapenko here.

The Latvian taking all the opportunities she is being given on Dart's service game and gets another break.

However, the home crowd are really trying to get behind Dart, cheering every point she gets.

It seems to help as the Brit breaks straight back to get herself on the board in this first set.

  7. Classy Sinner seals maiden Wimbledon crownpublished at 13:30 BST 29 June

    Sinner v Kecmanovic

Unfortunately, we won't be treated to the latest chapter in the fascinating story between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz at this year's Wimbledon, with the Spaniard missing through injury.

Last year's final saw the two rivals put on another incredible battle as Italy's Sinner prevailed 4-6 6-4 6-4 6-4 to win his first Wimbledon title.

    *Zheng 5-5 Norrie

A double fault from Cameron Norrie gives Michael Zheng hope at 15-30 before the American brings up two break points as Norrie is pressured into going wide with a forehand.

The Briton then goes long and all of a sudden, Zheng is right back in this set.

    Court two has gone quiet.

  10. 'Dart's strategy seems to be hitting through the middle'published at 13:27 BST 29 June

    Ostapenko 3-0 Dart*

    Martina Navratilova
Nine-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC Two

The biggest thing against Jelena Ostapenko is to keep the ball low, one way or another, whether that is by hitting the ball hard so it skids through or by hitting a slice or by keeping it short and low.

You can't just hit down the middle all the time because you will end up doing all the running and she will never have to move. But, right now, Harriet Dart's strategy seems to be hitting through the middle of the court and keeping it low.

What's this? Harriet Dart has asked for a medical time-out and is receiving some treatment from the trainer.

I'm not quite sure what the issue is. Dart seemed to be moving well, so it would be a real shame if her Wimbledon ends this early.

  12. Dart takes medical time-outpublished at 13:25 BST 29 June

    Ostapenko 3-0 Dart*

Looks like the could be a bit of an issue here for Harriet Dart as she takes a medical time-out at the change of ends.

Has she tweaked her left foot or ankle on one of those points? That is the area getting heavily strapped up by the physio right now.

She is heading back out so hopefully it doesn't hinder her too much.

  13. Zheng holdspublished at 13:25 BST 29 June

    Zheng 4-5 Norrie*

Cameron Norrie has the chance to bring up two set points but puts a shot into the net bringing a few groans from the crowd.

The game goes to deuce and Zheng comes through with an ace, before Norrie plods a volley wide.

Zheng has done well to keep in touch with Norrie but the Briton will now serve for the first set.

  14. Ostapenko a break uppublished at 13:21 BST 29 June

    Ostapenko 3-0 Dart*

Harriet Dart will need to be careful with her second serve today.

Slow and high-bouncing, it provides big-hitting Jelena Ostapenko with a chance to get on the front-foot from the start of the point.

Ostapenko takes the chance to punish Dart's missed first serves and gets an early break on the Brit.

The serve is also proving a bit tricky for the former French Open champion as Ostapenko has to catch a few wayward ball tosses, but she comes through to back up the break.

    *Zheng 3-5 Norrie

Cameron Norrie is looking good so far today and he confidently steps into the court to put away a shot at the net.

The noise levels briefly rise on court two with Michael Zheng now serving to stay in the first set.

    Zheng 3-4 Norrie*

Cameron Norrie makes more inroads into Michael Zheng's serve but the American pulls out a big first serve at 40-30 to seal the hold.

Zheng, 22, is making his debut at Wimbledon after coming through qualifying.

  17. Norrie holdspublished at 13:14 BST 29 June

    *Zheng 2-4 Norrie

A breezy hold to love now for Cameron Norrie with two delicate backhand volleys at the net being the highlight of the game.

That's roused the crowd a bit on court two.

  18. Ostapenko saves break point to holdpublished at 13:14 BST 29 June

    Ostapenko 1-0 Dart*

A double fault to kick off this match from Jelena Ostapenko and shortly followed by a second.

It is very much a 'go big or go home' game from the Latvian, which Harriet Dart looked to take early advantage of as she brought up break point.

However, Ostapenko showed her power and her touch to save it and settle any early nerves with the hold of serve.

  19. Jodar off to winning startpublished at 13:14 BST 29 June

    Jodar 6-3 6-3 7-5 Gill

    Harry Poole
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

Look, I obviously didn’t mean to jinx Felix Gill’s progress when I started getting excited about a potential fightback earlier in the third set.

It’s the magic of the Wimbledon first round - anything can happen.

The reality, however, is that despite the Briton’s best efforts to try and disrupt his opponent, Rafael Jodar has proven to be a class above.

The Spaniard, dominant from the baseline but comfortable all over the court, has demonstrated why he can be a genuine threat this fortnight.

A classy touch from Jodar as he stands to applaud the exiting Felix Gill before signing a few autographs and wishing the Briton well for the rest of the season in his post-match interview after wrapping up his first senior win on grass.

As for Gill, a superb effort by the world number 220 against one of the sport’s most exciting talents, and he gets the appreciation he deserves from the crowd too.

  20. Zheng holdspublished at 13:12 BST 29 June

    Zheng 2-3 Norrie*

Michael Zheng's confidence seems to be growing and he shows it with a deep forehand winner to wrap up the game.

The American clenches his fist in celebration before the change of ends.
