Cameron Norrie levels the tie-break heading into the change of ends, getting on the front foot in the point with a huge return of serve.

But Michael Zheng wrong-foots Norrie with a forehand winner off a T-serve. He leads 4-3.

  2. 'Sinner able to exploit the angle'published at 16:47 BST 29 June

Miomir Kecmanovic has resisted so well on his backhand side throughout this match, but Jannik Sinner was just able to exploit the angle on the forehand side in that game.

Credit where credit is due though, Kecmanovic is the reason we are in a fifth set here on Centre Court.

  3. Sinner holdspublished at 16:47 BST 29 June

    Sinner 4-6 6-3 6-7 (6-8) 6-2 2-1 Kecmanovic*

The aces keep coming from Jannik Sinner as he brings up number 28 to lead 30-0.

Sinner gets the hold to love in remarkable style. The Italian is faced with a return right at his feet on the baseline but quickly gets his racquet down and finds the corner.

There's no question both have the quality to win this match so it feels like it's a mental battle from this point.

Cameron Norrie responds with a big first serve.

    *Sinner 4-6 6-3 6-7 (6-8) 6-2 1-1 Kecmanovic

Miomir Kecmanovic remained on his chair during the extended break between sets and looked pensive as he stared out on to the court. Let's see where he's at on serve.

It looks pretty good. Kecmanovic gets the hold to 15.

Not much given away by either yet.

Brazilian 24th seed Joao Fonseca has booked his spot in the second round with a 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 6-3 win over Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut.

Fonseca will be hoping he can build on his form at the French Open earlier this month, where he defeated Novak Djokovic on his way to the quarter-finals before defeat by Jakub Mensik.

Elsewhere, Russian eighth seed Daniil Medvedev has taken the first set 6-1 against 2017 finalist Marin Cilic.

    *Zheng 6-7 (7-9) 6-2 6-7 (2-7) 6-3 5-6 Norrie

Michael Zheng earns advantage but Cameron Norrie forces a second deuce as the American drags a cross-court backhand wide with his opponent on the approach.

  12. Sinner holdspublished at 16:41 BST 29 June

    Sinner 4-6 6-3 6-7 (6-8) 6-2 1-0 Kecmanovic*

That extended break doesn't seem to have slowed Jannik Sinner's progress, though.

Sinner picks up aces 26 and 27 en route to getting a hold to 15.

Every service game comes with a huge amount of pressure now.

  13. 'Interesting time to take a toilet break'published at 16:40 BST 29 June

    *Sinner 4-6 6-3 6-7 (6-8) 6-2 0-0 Kecmanovic

    Tim Henman
Former British number one on BBC One

It has been just over six minutes since the last point. It is an interesting time to take a toilet break when you have just won the fourth set.

Some might wonder if you would just want to keep going after getting the momentum and rhythm on both serve and return.

Six or seven minutes is plenty of time for your opponent to regroup and gather their thoughts.

    *Zheng 6-7 (7-9) 6-2 6-7 (2-7) 6-3 5-6 Norrie

Lovely forehand pass from Cameron Norrie! His previous pass - on the backhand side - was a touch fortunate, pinging off the net cord, but this one was precision all the way. 15.30.

Michael Zheng recovers to 40-30 but a loose forehand from the American takes the game to deuce.

  15. Postpublished at 16:38 BST 29 June

    *Sinner 4-6 6-3 6-7 (6-8) 6-2 0-0 Kecmanovic

Jannik Sinner comes back to a ripple of applause. It's over six minutes since the last point in this match.

Feels a little strange that Sinner, who had gained the momentum after a strong fourth set performance, would want to disrupt the flow.

    Anyway, we're back under way.

“Please ladies and gentlemen, I know it’s exciting but please do not scream during the point”, says the chair umpire on Court Two.

That gets a few chuckles. ‘Exciting’ might be underselling this!

    *Zheng 6-7 (7-9) 6-2 6-7 (2-7) 6-3 5-6 Norrie

Cameron Norrie has saved three break points across his past two service games.

Michael Zheng will once again have to serve to stay in the match - not that he had any issues last time.

    Zheng 6-7 (7-9) 6-2 6-7 (2-7) 6-3 5-5 Norrie*

Oh, the court was gaping! It's an excellent wide serve from Cameron Norrie but his attempted one-two punch into the opposite corner doesn't land, dragging his forehand into the tramlines.

  19. Postpublished at 16:35 BST 29 June

    *Sinner 4-6 6-3 6-7 (6-8) 6-2 0-0 Kecmanovic

Jannik Sinner has not lost in the opening round of a Grand Slam since 2021 when he was making his debut at Wimbledon.

It was Hungary's Marton Fucsovics who sent Sinner packing on that occasion.

The Italian, just as he did after winning the second set in this match, has gone for a comfort break, so we'll have a little delay until the fifth set gets going.

  20. 'Sinner has been stretched in every sense'published at 16:34 BST 29 June

Two hours and 53 minutes played on Centre Court - and we are going the distance.

The defending champion has been stretched in every sense of the word in this match, but has Miomir Kecmanovic got enough in his tank to go and grab the momentum back off Jannik Sinner?
