    The fourth seed puts together a string of powerful forehands as he overwhelms Lorenzo Musetti in another rally and forces three break points.

    Musetti responds with a delicate touch at the net to save the first, and smashes down an overhead with the second, but a third proves one too many.

    Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev, seeded first and third in the men's draw, were victorious in the first batch of quarter-finals on Tuesday.

    Alcaraz beat Australian hope Alex de Minaur in straight sets, while Zverev's high-quality serving display saw him past American youngster Learner Tien.

    In the women's draw, top seed Aryna Sabalenka was a straight-set winner against American teenager Iva Jovic, while third seed Coco Gauff was beaten 6-1 6-2 by Elina Svitolina.

    Novak Djokovic has already passed a couple of milestones during this year's Australian Open.

    He reached 100 match wins in Melbourne and 400 in all Grand Slams.

    If he lifts the title on Sunday, it will be a record-extending 11th Australian Open crown and a 25th Grand Slam singles titles overall.

    That would set a new all-time record - he currently shares it with Margaret Court, who also won 24 Grand Slams during her career.

    Iga Swiatek's bid to complete the career Grand Slam at this year's Australian Open was ended by Kazakh fifth seed Elena Rybakina in the quarter-finals.

    Reigning Wimbledon champion Swiatek lost 7-5 6-1 as Rybakina used her power to devastating effect.

    Rybakina will face American sixth seed Jessica Pegula following her 6-2 7-6 (7-1) win over Amanda Anisimova a short while ago.
