    Robertson 2-1 Wakelin

Neil Robertson gets another frame on the board after a half century. But he does give Chris Wakelin a bit of a chance in that one.

The Englishman though looks completely unsettled and cannot capitalise.

Neil got himself in a position to pinch the frame and really hurt Chris. He will be horrified he missed the blue.

I've been loving each day of the masters so far despite the repetitive scorelines!

  5. Wakelin levelspublished at 20:12 GMT 14 January

    Robertson 1-1 Wakelin

Chris Wakelin is almost kicking himself. He has the frame pretty much won when he misses a red to the left corner while trying to bridge over a couple of balls.

It was an awkward one but he should be getting that.

Neil Robertson gets back to the 72-1 down and needing a snooker. And the Australian gets one but then remarkably misjudges getting out of a snooker himself while on the blue before Wakelin gets over the line some 15-20 minutes later than he could have done.

  6. Robertson moves aheadpublished at 19:36 GMT 14 January

    Robertson 1-0 Wakelin

Neil Robertson takes the opening frame with a decent run of 44, which ends with an eye-catching double on the yellow.

    6-2 the new 6-7?

The odds of all the previous seven first-round matches to finish 6-2 were 44,000/1.

And apparently all the correct scores and winners would have been priced at 3,700,000/1.

    Remarkable.

If I had predicted those scores I wouldn't be here. I would be up there sipping champagne.

Incredible scorelines. There was a year here when we had a lot of 6-5 scores but 6-2, who could have predicted that and seven of them. Incredible.

There were some strange ones in there as well with big favourites going out.

  11. How the draw is shaping uppublished at 19:09 GMT 14 January

    Robertson v Wakelin

Neil Robertson was originally due to face Ronnie O'Sullivan this evening, in what had been viewed as one of the most mouthwatering matches in the first-round draw.

'The Rocket's' withdrawal gives Scottish Open champion Chris Wakelin the opportunity to face the Australian having defeated him 10-8 in the World Championship last year.

Judd Trump speaking on BBC Two: "I am comfortable. In the UK I was comfortable. I think everything is fine. I feel confident and have got to a few finals recently and it has taken some good players to stop me. I am full of confidence and hopefully I can go one better this tournament.

"It’s my favourite tournament to play. The crowds are unbelievable, and I love coming back here. Every game is a belter here, let's hope the next game is not 6-2."

    Steve Davis

Pretty clinical. You can't really do much better than that. He didn't miss anything easy. Positional play was superb and that made the game look so easy.

It wasn't like his opponent collapsed. Ding had 90% pot success. To destroy a player with that is astonishing.
