    Murphy 5-7 Wu

    Hear, hear, Chris.

Action has resumed now at the Crucible Theatre.

Wu Yize nails a wonderful long red but starts walking back to his chair because he knows where the cue ball is going... Into the corner pocket.

Unfortunate but fortunate that he leaves nothing on for Shaun Murphy.

    Let the safety shots commence.

There's just been a beautiful tribute on the BBC Two coverage to former UK Championship winner and beloved BBC commentator John Virgo, who died earlier this year.

So many colleagues and players, past and present, have been sharing their memories of the great man.

  4. Quiz: Can you name all Crucible finalists since 2000?published at 20:20 BST 3 May

If you haven't had a go at our quiz yet, why not try it during the mid-session interval?

Wu Yize is the 21st player to reach a World Championship final at the Crucible since the turn of the century, but can you name the other 20 to have appeared in the snooker showpiece in Sheffield since 2000?

There is a big rise up the world rankings on offer for whichever of the finalists lifts the famous trophy tomorrow.

Shaun Murphy is provisionally fifth but would go second behind Judd Trump if he is victorious. Wu Yize would be ninth with that outcome.

Wu would climb to a career-high fourth if he wins, a result that would also mean Murphy ends the World Championship in sixth spot.

Earlier I spoke to Barry, Brian and Michael, who have travelled across from Cavan in the Republic of Ireland to watch the world final - and appear to have called it right when it comes to the style on show.

"It should be a good match, there won't be much safety played and I'm expecting more all out attack," said Brian.

"Whoever gets in first can do some damage. It would be nice to see Wu Yize win because Shaun has won it before obviously.

"It was unreal last night. We feel terrible for Mark, we're gutted for him. He had his chances but to miss a black like that is going to be a hard one to take."

There won't be many tactical exchanges in this match so when Shaun plays a good safety shot and gets nothing from it, it'll be very annoying.

It's frustrating but you've got to have a match temperament, forget it and get on with the next frame. It's not easy because his opponent is flying.

  9. Wu restores two-frame advantagepublished at 20:10 BST 3 May

    Murphy 5-7 Wu

Not the prettiest frame of the session but another one that goes the way of Wu Yize.

That's a two-frame lead for the 22-year-old at the end of the mini session and Shaun Murphy once again needs to come from behind after the interval.

Another five frames to play when we return.

    Murphy 5-6 Wu

A break of 23 comes to a close for Wu Yize as he misses a pot to the corner, striking down on the cue ball.

Shaun Murphy comes to the table and rattles a red in the jaws of pocket, allowing Wu back.

The black ball is in a really poor position on the table and it looks like he may have to build a break using the blue here.

That third-red break-off isn't working quite as well for Shaun Murphy today.

In an attempt to do what has been working so well for him so far, he again opens the pack up quite nicely for Wu Yize who obliges with a brilliant long red.

Perhaps the ability of Wu on these long shots is playing on the mind of 'The Magician' just a little bit.

It's 21 years since Shaun has won it so it shows how difficult it is to do it. It's not often that you get to the final.

You want to take that chance because you don't know when your next one will be.

If you're asking who needs this more, possibly Shaun does.

  13. Murphy answers backpublished at 19:54 BST 3 May

    Murphy 5-6 Wu

Fortunately for 'The Magician,' he didn't have to be that careful because Wu Yize leaves a red open and Shaun Murphy duly obliges before seeing the black off its spot to clinch the frame.

A great response from the Englishman.

Shaun Murphy has to be careful here. This frame would have been over had he not taken the plant on.

    Murphy 4-6 Wu

Shaun Murphy builds a break of 72 but a poor cannon onto the remaining few reds sees it stall.

Wu Yize comes back to the table but he will require a couple of snookers if he is to win this frame.

Wu trails by 72 with 67 remaining.

    Murphy 4-6 Wu

This is nice from Shaun Murphy.

A poor break-off from Wu Yize allows 'The Magician' in and he has wasted no time in building his break.

A cannon into the reds has opened the table up nicely and he is off.

Murphy up to a break of 46 and pulling away.

    Murphy 4-6 Wu

    Stephen Hendry

It's one of the best breaks of the World Championship so far, one of the best centuries.

I was just thinking if it's maybe intimidating Shaun a bit because he's used to out-bludgeoning his opponent but he's getting it done to him.

The worst thing Shaun can do is get dragged into a gunfight - he's got to remain composed and play his own game.

Foot to the floor stuff from Wu Yize. He cues left-handed beautifully.

Once again, Shaun finds himself adrift at the start of the session. If he doesn't get off to great starts in the sessions, he is immediately asking for something to happen to get himself back in it.

It's very early and maybe the next couple of frames will tell us much more about tonight.

  19. Wu goes back-to-backpublished at 19:39 BST 3 May

    Murphy 4-6 Wu

How well has Wu Yize started?

A break of 103, his first century of the day, and he is two frames in the lead once more. He gets to the ton with a fluked pink that was missed to the corner but rolled away and into the middle.

He won the opening two frames of the afternoon session but this is far more convincing stuff.

This is brilliant. A magnificent break. For all the centuries he has made this week, he won't have made a better break than this one. His cue ball control has been absolutely sublime.
