It's good to see them take those decision [to re-rack] quickly.
I think both players realised where that frame was going, the black over the corner pocket was no use to either player.
Hawkins 5-4 Williams
Barry Hawkins makes a bad miss on simple blue, but Mark Williams follows it up with his own miss on black.
Both players agree that a re-rack is in order.
Steve Davis
Six-time world champion on BBC Four
Massive fluke for Barry Hawkins after failing to clinch the frame there and then.
I'm a bit puzzled why Mark Williams potted red at the end when he needed snookers, bu that's the way he went about it.
Hawkins 5-4 Williams
Lady luck favours Barry Hawkins after that miss - he misses another red by a mile but a fluke of a deflection ends up clipping in a different red entirely.
From there Mark Williams is requiring snookers, and ends up conceding with Hawkins ahead 64-23.
Hawkins 4-4 Williams
Mark Williams makes an uncharacteristic miss on black, and Barry Hawkins takes advantage with a break of 63.
He should put the frame to bed, but he hits a red too hard and it bounces out.
He's fuming!
Hawkins 4-4 Williams
An indicator of the quality these two players produced in the first session of this match:
Barry Hawkins had a pot success rate of 94%, while Williams had 91%.

Barry Hawkins has done everything here [at the Crucible] other than win it.
Mark Williams is a serial winner so has the edge.
But Barry has enough pedigree here, I think he is going to cause problems for Mark.
Hawkins 4-4 Williams
The winner of this second round match will meet either 2024 world champion Kyren Wilson, or reigning English Open champion Mark Allen in the quarter-finals.
After two sessions, Allen leads that one 7-9. That match will conclude on Saturday morning (10:00 BST).

Three-time winner Mark Williams reached the final last year and would become the oldest world champion if, at 51, he could win the tournament for a fourth time.
His last-16 opponent Barry Hawkins took the opening frame of their match with a break of 127, and the pair alternated frames with Williams making a 124 in frame four and 65 in frame six.
The Welshman moved ahead for the first time by taking the seventh frame, only for Hawkins to win the last of the session, helped by a run of 73, to draw level at 4-4.
After tonight's session, this match will be played to a finish on Saturday evening.
With Shaun Murphy wrapping up his second round match with a session to spare earlier today, we've got just the one match this evening.
It's a good one though - join us for session two of Mark Williams v Barry Hawkins, which is finely poised at 4-4.
Join us for that one at 19:00 BST.
Allen 9-7 Wilson

Former World Seniors champion on BBC Two
It's almost impossible to predict the outcome of this match.
when the draw was there, it always looked like it would be a close match, they have played many times before and are very evenly matched in the way they play and how their seasons have played out.
You wouldn't be surprised to see this one go the distance.
Allen 9-7 Wilson
Ken Doherty
1997 world champion on BBC Two
Mark Allen will be delighted. He shared the session 4-4, and that's all he needs to do, keep sharing the frames. Putting the pressure on Kyren Wilson
Wilson made a rally, sustained it in a way with some good breaks.
Mark will be delighted to get out still a couple of frames ahead.
Allen 9-7 Wilson
Mark Allen came into this session with a two-frame advantage, and that's how he ends it.
Allen leaves Kyren Wilson in a tricky position and the Englishman ends up potting the cue ball for a four-point penalty. Allen looks to seize the opportunity to win the frame but snookers himself.
A tense tactical battle follows, with Wilson fouling five times when snookered.
Wilson looks to fight back, but Allen swerves onto the red and inadvertently snookers his opponent before securing the frame.
Allen 8-7 Wilson
Mark Allen looks set to run away with this frame, but he snookers himself!
This is going to be a tense end to the session.
Zhao 4-4 Ding
Joe Perry
Former World Championship semi-finalist on BBC Two
I thought the frame was over but then Zhao Xintong missed that black. What a clearance and a timely one as well from Ding Junhui.
There was one problem ball but it was precision positional play from Ding. A masterclass.
Allen 8-7 Wilson
Dennis Taylor
1985 world champion on BBC Two
Mark Allen has upped his game hasn't he. He looks zoned in.
This is how he played against Zhang Anda from 5-3 down, he took complete control of that match and never looked like missing.
Zhao 4-4 Ding
Ding Junhui take a bow.
The 39-year-old produces a sensational break of 62 to snaffle the frame from Zhao Xintong.
Allen 8-7 Wilson
Mark Allen that is superb!
The momentum swings back to Allen as he compiles a break of 140 - the 699th century break of his career - to retake the lead.
Allen sets himself up by potting a black beautifully with the cue ball spinning back and opening up the reds, and from there there was only going to be one outcome.
That's Allen's first 50+ break since frame four, and his first century of this match.
