    Wales 7-7 France

The pattern continues. Sustained French pressure but the Welsh pack works in unison to hold up a maul and win a turnover.

From the scrum, they nearly play their way into trouble though and Kayleigh Powell is forced to hurry her clearance. Here come France again...

I think Wales are doing really well and they would have been happy to go in at 7-7.

I think the main discussion at half time would have been about territory, especially the kicking which is a little bit aimless and it is letting France back in.

But Wales have done extremely well to hold France up twice.

    Wales 7-7 France

We've said a lot about the pressure Wales were under in the latter stages of the first-half - but it should also be noted they'll have the breeze in their favour now.

Carla Arbez does the honours and we are back underway in Cardiff.

Right then you lot, let's test if this half-time score has turned dreamers into believers.

Thumbs up if you think a first Wales win over France for 10 years is happening here? Thumbs down if you're a cynic and think another defeat is coming.

It does feel like Wales are holding on a little bit at the moment.

France, every time they've got the ball, particularly from the counter attack and receiving kicks look really dangerous and they have got a strong bench for the second half.

Whatever the outcome after these next 40 minutes, it will get no easier for Wales next weekend.

Sean Lynn will take his side to Ashton Gate, Bristol, to face an England side targeting the Six Nations title for an eighth year in a row.

Elsewhere, France host Ireland and Italy will welcome Scotland.

France arrived in Cardiff today the early Six Nations leaders, but they'll struggle to stay on top.

England are now the pace-setters after they ran in 12 tries to hammer Scotland 84-7 at Murrayfield.

  9. 'Wales doing well in the tackle'published at 16:30 BST 18 April

    Siwan Lillicrap
Former Wales captain on BBC Two Wales

Wales have done really well and especially in the first 10 minutes.

The last 25 minutes has all been France pressure, Wales are doing well in the tackle and I would like to see bit more punch like last week.

There were only four missed tackles and 12 months ago that would have been different, so they are still taking strides forward.

Kicking game for Wales is too lose and it is giving France the opportunity to get territorial advantage.

  12. Half-time: Wales 7-7 Francepublished at 16:21 BST 18 April

Wales started this game superbly before the momentum swung, but the half-time whistle goes with Sean Lynn's side level and bang in the contest.

Ironically, it was after conceding a penalty try and going down to 13 players that France turned the screw through their pack. But since getting level, they have banged away at the Welsh defence with no reward.

The hosts will have to up their kicking game in the second-half and find a way to start crossing the gain line. They can't repel this pressure for 40 more minutes.

But I dare say that before the game, the whole of Wales would have taken this score line at the interval.

    Wales 7-7 France

Ambre Mwayembe is the replacement prop for France and she carries strongly as France attack again.

But once again the hosts are resolute and Seren Singleton manages to bundle Lea Murie into touch near the corner flag.

    One minute to hold out...

France look so slick when they go through the gears!

    Wales 7-7 France

France go through the gears in attack but the Welsh defence, not for the first time today, holds firm.

The referee's whistle goes with the visitors still on the attack, with Yllana Brosseau down on the ground and looking in serious pain. This doesn't look good for the prop.

Finally, some sustained possession for Wales again and they stay patient before winning another penalty on half-way.

The infringement count now stands at 8-1 against France. At this rate, Mr. Jenkinson could soon be threatening cards again.

This kicking game is doing no favours for Wales right now.

A few kicks charged down, a few aimless ones where there's no real chase and that's playing into France's hands.

There's some real pace in the French backline and those kicks will feed France's counter-attacking game if Wales aren't careful.

    Wales 7-7 France

From the scrum, the French work an overlap but a big hit from Kayleigh Powell in midfield means Anais Grando has to dive to gather a loose ball - and the winger is pinged for holding on.

A big hit from the full-back when her team needed it most.

Caryl's annoyance will be shared by ample Welsh fans right now.

Since the moment the home side went 7-0 up against 13 players, the momentum has totally shifted. On that note, France have an attacking scrum here....

I'm disappointed with the way Wales seemed to just come under pressure.

It blows my mind when we were so dominant and so much momentum and how that has changed.
