Wales lock Adam Beard, who left Ospreys for France last summer, will not take to the field for Montpellier this evening.
He is missing with a shoulder injury and the French side have made a raft of changes.
Pontypool-raised England number eight Billy Vunipola also sits this one out along with Scotland scrum-half Ali Price.
Former Scotland and Lions back Stuart Hogg pulls the strings from fly-half while Australia hooker Jordan Uelese captains the side from hooker and lock Marco Tauleigne is a vastly experienced Top 14 operator.
French squads boast depth that Welsh clubs would love.

It's a crucial game for Ospreys but Mark Jones has still opted to ring the changes after the loss at Zebre.
They opt not to gamble on the fitness of Wales captain and hooker Dewi Lake, who suffered a shoulder injury in Parma but has trained this week.
Jones has made 13 personnel changes, with only lock James Fender and Jack Walsh - who switches from full-back to fly-half and captains the side - surviving from the team that started in Parma.
South African flanker Marco de Witt, who signed on a short-term deal in December 2025 as cover for the injured Jac Morgan, will make his Ospreys debut.
Ospreys: Nagy; Kasende, Watkin, Cokanasiga, Conbeer; Walsh (capt), Morgan-Williams; S Thomas, L Lloyd, Henry, R Davies, Fender, de Witt, G Evans, Morris.
Replacements: Daniel, C Jones, Hire, L Jones, Moriarty, Morse, Hardy, Hopkins.

Three rounds of Challenge Cup action have led to a clash at Brewery Field to decide who tops Pool One.
Whoever comes out on top will get a good seeding for the knockout stages... we'll get to the details of that shortly.
Ospreys are looking to get back to winning ways after a loss to Zebre in Parma last weekend, that after festive derby wins against Scarlets and Cardiff that have revived their URC play-off hopes.
