Ospreys have got around the Montpellier pack twice with very clever attacking movements. They worked together brilliantly to secure the try and draw them level.

    Lloyd try, Walsh con

    Ospreys right back in it.

Lewis Lloyd hits Moriarty with the throw and the drive comes on for the hooker to guide the maul over the line.

Walsh coolly adds the conversion and it's level in Bridgend.

    Ospreys 14-21 Montpellier

Montpellier penalised twice for offside, and both times it was replacement hooker Lyam Akrab.

Ospreys will go to the corner down the right. Big moment.

Confrontational back-rower Ross Moriarty is called into the action.

Fresh legs coming on for Montpellier but a lot of experience leaving as well. Let's see whether the home side can stand up to them.

    Osprey 14-21 Montpellier

    So close!

Ospreys play with penalty advantage for a high tackle and Jack Walsh bursts through. A terrific cover tackle on him forces a speculative offload but it just eludes Owen Watkin.

Ospreys will hunt a leveller by going to the corner. Montpellier have changed their front row to add some energy in the drive defence.

    Ospreys 14-21 Montpellier

Neither side has really got going in this second half, which is odd given how much is at stake.

Another try for Montpellier would make it very hard for Ospreys to overtake them for top spot.

In fact, let's see what you think.

Thumbs up for an Ospreys comeback, thumbs down for a Montpellier win.

    Ospreys 14-21 Montpellier

Superb line break by Phil Cokanasiga into the Montpellier 22.

Ospreys put the pressure on but the French defence holds firm and there's a knock on, Jack Walsh unable to gather Owen Watkin's offload.

    Encouraging start though.

Can Ospreys repeat what they did against Connacht in round one by fighting back?

When they are in the Montpellier half they are looking dangerous. I like how they are changing the point of attack a lot.

We saw that just at the end of the first half, Henry does brilliantly to keep a few of the Montpellier boys on the floor. Then Montpellier put their pressure on the wrong side and this opens up the space for Lloyd to score.

It's a fantastic try and exactly what they needed before going into half time.

    Ospreys 14-21 Montpellier

Jack Walsh converted with the last play of the first half and he gets things back under way.

Can Ospreys rescue this? It's going to be tough (but not impossible) to overhaul Montpellier but they also have second place and home advantage to play for.

A reminder that Dragons have now qualified for the knockout stages of the Challenge Cup and will travel to Stade Francais in the last 16.

Filo Tiatia's side moved to the brink of qualification last night with a 35-12 victory against Newcastle Red Bulls at Rodney Parade,

Their four-try bonus proved to be crucial because it gave them the edge over both Perpignan and Lions when they drew 20-20 in France.

  12. 'Worst possible start'published at 20:58 GMT 17 January

    HT: Ospreys 14-21 Montpellier

    Ifan Phillips
Former Scarlets and Ospreys hooker on S4C

Unfortunately Ospreys got off to the worst possible start but they got themselves back into it.

With the power of the Montpellier pack, when they get close to the try line they're always going to be dangerous.

It all comes down to the discipline of Ospreys as they've made mistakes, given away penalties and that has let Montpellier get into those positions.

Montpellier were looking comfortable but a little shift to the left and it opened up the space for Lloyd to convert.

The Ospreys right back in it before half time.

  15. Half-timepublished at 20:48 GMT 17 January

    Ospreys 14-21 Montpellier

Ospreys have given themselves some hope with that try before the break but they are up against it.

Montpellier need one more for what would be a vital bonus point in the race for top spot.

Meanwhile, Connacht are running wild against Montauban in Galway. It's 56-7 to the Irish province at half-time... safe to assume they'll get five points.

Ospreys could go as low as fourth in the group after enjoying a perfect start.

    Lloyd try, Walsh con

    They needed that!

Just like against Connacht in round one, the hosts have a lifeline courtesy of hooker Lewis Lloyd bursting through the middle and crossing.

There is a delay while the TMO checks it's legal but the green light is given. Walsh slots the conversion.

    Shane Williams

You can see that the pink shirts were too long getting back to support Jack Walsh, but he should've opted for the kick instead.

That's two tries from mistakes for Montpellier.

Converted try: Ospreys 7-21 Montpellierpublished at 35 mins

    Masibaka try, Hogg con

An absolute shocker by Jack Walsh.

The captain runs back and nicely claims a long kick but then flings a floaty pass that is easily picked off by Alex Masibaka, who races over for his second of the evening.

Hogg converts and the French side are in control.

They are looking good to be top seeds for the knockout stages, Ospreys are in serious danger of being in the bottom rung.

    Ospreys 7-14 Montpellier

Ospreys pile the pressure on in the 22 but then Rhys Davies gets isolated and Montpellier's front rowers Jordan Uelese and Christopher Tolofua get over the ball to win a penalty.

Good spell of pressure but Ospreys need to be more clinical in the 'red zone'.

  20. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Ospreys 7-14 Montpellier

Ospreys kick one penalty to the corner and then opt for a quick tap from another.

Not the slickest move - Morgan-Williams almost forgot to tap the ball - but Ospreys will have another attacking chance from a scrum 10 metres out after a knock-on by the defence.
