The Champions Cup began last night and it was a dream start for Glasgow as they picked up a bonus point away win at Sale.

Sale were 14-0 before Warriors came roaring back to claim what could be a vital victory even at this early stage.

Those two are in the same group as Saracens and Clermont - and also Toulouse!

You can read last night's match report here.

  3. Half-timepublished at 13:52 GMT 6 December 2025

    Saracens 26-0 Clermont

James Hadfield's try is the last bit of action before the break and Saracens have a very handsome lead.

In truth they have completely dominated proceedings and we have seen very little from Clermont as an attacking force.

Job done for Saracens already? It certainly looks like it.

They already have the try bonus point so they might be looking to give their points difference a big boost this afternoon.

    James Hadfield

A bonus point on the stroke of half-time!

They were wasteful for the opening half-hour but in the ten minutes before the break Sarries have scored three tries.

Hooker James Hadfield picks a good line and goes under the posts giving Owen Farrell an easy two.

    Try - Saracens 19-0 Clermontpublished at 13:44 GMT 6 December 2025

    Max Malins

All of a sudden it's a third try for Saracens!

It's out of nothing and a little fortunate as Max Malins skilfully kicks in behind and the bounce of the ball fools retreating Clermont winger Bautista Delguy allowing the Saracens winger to dot down.

Owen Farrell miscues the conversion to miss from the tee for the first time today.

We haven't seen much of Clermont as an attacking force but full-back Axel Guillaud shows good attacking intent and forces Saracens to give away a penalty.

Clermont could go for the posts to get on the board but instead stick it into the corner for a line-out.

It turns out to be the wrong call as they lose possession from the throw and Elliot Daly can clear.

    Lucio Cinti (con: Farrell)

    They make this one count!

    And it's Lucio Cinti again.

The Argentina international is showing his team-mates how to finish today as good hands in the Clermont 22 sees the centre stride through some flimsy Clermont challenges to add Saracens' second try.

  8. Postpublished at 33 mins

    Saracens 7-0 Clermont

Owen Farrell sends up a high kick but Clermont deal with it well as they have done most things defensively so far.

Again the French side can clear but back come Sarries with the relentless pressure.

They do need to start making it count though you feel.

  9. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Saracens 7-0 Clermont

Clermont have only had 37% possession and 32% territory but they are also only seven points down as Anthime Hemery's time on the naughty chair comes to an end.

Can the French side get something going now with their full complement of players?

  10. Postpublished at 27 mins

    Saracens 7-0 Clermont

Home winger Noah Calouri goes for the line again and again he comes up just short.

But Saracens then knock-on from a messy line-out and another chance passes them by.

Mark McCall's side are winning and on top but they will think they should have more than seven points on the board at this stage.

Clermont will be happy with the size of the deficit and will hope to keep Sarries out until they are back up to 15.

    Saracens 7-0 Clermont

Elliot Daly has shown some excellent touches so far in this one - not least that outside of the boot kick in behind to set up Lucio Cinti's try.

The experienced full-back is pulling the strings nicely.

Sarries have another good field position here against 14 men.

They haven't been clinical so far it has to be said.

  12. No try and yellow cardpublished at 20 mins

    Saracens 7-0 Clermont

After a long check, referee Hollie Davidson signals no try but does issue a yellow card to Clermont flanker Anthime Hemery for some skulduggery on the floor..

An extra man for Sarries now.

But they can't make it count immediately as Clermont earn a penalty and can relieve the pressure valve - for now.

  13. Postpublished at 18 mins

    Saracens 7-0 Clermont

Another Sarries attempt at the line and it's being checked by the TMO.

    Is this a try?

  14. Postpublished at 16 mins

    Saracens 7-0 Clermont

Young winger Noah Calouri goes mightily close to the line before the ball is recycled and Sarries go through the phases.

Owen Farrell tries a little dink in behind as Caluori gives chase but the ball bounces away from his clutches in the small Sarries in-goal area.

Chance missed but the hosts look well on top.

    Breakthrough!

Saracens take the lead thanks to Elliot Daly's kick in behind the Clermont defence and it pops up nicely for Lucio Cinti to catch and run in unopposed.

Owen Farrell slots the extras to give Saracens a 7-0 lead.

    Saracens 0-0 Clermont

    No they can't.

Disappointment for Sarries as Clermont earn themselves a penalty and can clear their lines.

A chance goes begging for the hosts.

  18. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Saracens 0-0 Clermont

A couple of openings for the hosts as Hugh Tizard makes a break before being stopped his tracks but Saracens have another attacking line-out.

Continuing the early pressure they now have a scrum in front of the Clermont sticks about five metres out.

    Can they make this count?

  19. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Saracens 0-0 Clermont

An interesting start as Sarries get the chance to attack from an early line-out but then Clermont steal the ball and are able to clear upfield through Harry Plummer.
