Summary

  1. Missed penaltypublished at 10 mins

    Benetton 0-0 Scarlets

Rhyno Smith, the best named full-back in rugby union, steps up from about 30 metres out - with his kick to the right of the posts.

It stays right of the posts too....

  2. Postpublished at 9 mins

    Benetton 0-0 Scarlets

The Benetton attack breaks down as the ball goes loose in midfield.

However, Sam Lousi then hits up for Scarlets only to find himself isolated and that's a home penalty - and a chance for the first points.

  3. Postpublished at 8 mins

    Benetton 0-0 Scarlets

Another high ball for Macs Page and this time he doesn't deal with it, spilling forward to hand Benetton an attacking scrum.

This one is yet to spring into life but now, a chance for the hosts to apply some pressure.

  4. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Benetton 0-0 Scarlets

Bit of kick-tennis here but execution is poor from both sides, and eventually Rhyno Smith ends the exchange in fitting fashion by shanking an attempted grubber into touch.

Novak Djokovic, if he's able to stand back up yet after his Australian Open epic with Jannik Sinner, would be tutting at the lack of direction there.

  5. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Benetton 0-0 Scarlets

Early test for Macs Page as Benetton scrum-half Andy Uren launches the first box kick of the evening.

The Scarlets winger is up to the task though, and safely takes a high ball inside his own half.

  6. Kick-offpublished at 19:47 GMT 30 January

    Benetton 0-0 Scarlets

So, it is Nicolas Roger Farias who gets us under way in Treviso.

After the stormy weather both sides encountered in Wales last weekend, the players will feel like it's summer this evening.

A bright day across Italy has given way to a clear night with little in the way of wind or rain.

The last clash between these two sides in Treviso was a thrilling one, as the pair played out a 20-20 draw early last season.

Indeed, history suggests another close game could be in store tonight. The outlook from the last five meetings between these two reads - two wins each and a draw.

Scarlets fans can of course, take solace from the fact it's only six days since Benetton last lost to a Welsh side.

On the contrary, the last time one of the Welsh regions ran out here, Dragons in the European Challenge Cup in January, they were thumped 74-21.

Fly-half Carwyn Leggat-Jones is widely regarded as one of the brightest young talents in Welsh rugby.

The 18-year-old will make his first league start tonight, with Sam Costelow and Joe Hawkins away on Wales duty.

Nigel Davies says the Under-20s playmaker "has got all the qualities to be a great 10," likening him to former Scarlets Stephen Jones and Rhys Priestland.

"He's a combination of both at this moment," said Davies.

"He's hugely skilled, he plays with his head up and understands the game.

"How he's actually going to fare under pressure we'll see, but we'll work with him and I'm very excited about where he can get to.

"But let's not get ahead of ourselves."

It's been a positive start under Nigel Davies with a pulsating defeat in Northampton followed by the Ulster win.

This week though, the man himself has now challenged his side to target consecutive victories and insisted he's not focused on league position.

"It's two big games for us, we came out on the right side of the Ulster game and it's a massive week again," Davies said.

"I've been happy with what we've been able to achieve, we've come quite a long way, but we have to back it up with another performance.

"I'm not really worried about where we are in the league, I'm taking each week as it comes."

Prop Bautista Bernasconi is set to make his 50th appearance from the bench for Benetton tonight, and has vowed his side will target the scrum area in their latest Welsh clash.

"In this league there is a good group of teams at the same level, so there are never easy games," said the Argentine.

"We know that they are a team that likes to make themselves heard in the scrum, which is common to all Welsh teams. It will be a good challenge, as it was last week [against Cardiff], and we in the pack will have to approach it in the same way.

"Scarlets are a team that plays using their feet a lot and they want to conquer the territory. So, compared to the game against Cardiff, we have to improve our aerial play."

    Glasgow Warriors v Munster (19:45)

It may be the week before the Six Nations with teams shorn of many of their internationals, but there is still valuable URC points up for grabs this evening.

Glasgow come into the weekend in top spot and the goal is to ensure they remain there as the league heads into a month-long break.

Munster can strike a significant blow this evening though. Currently fifth in the standings, a bonus-point win here at Scotstoun, while denying Glasgow anything, would see them move level on points with the Warriors.

Easier said than done. Glasgow do not lose many at home.

Interim director of rugby Nigel Davies is without nine key players involved in Wales' Six Nations squad, but two of his most experienced campaigners feature.

Scrum-half Gareth Davies is one of 12 changes to the XV that beat Ulster, and lock Jake Ball has recovered from a concussion to be named as a replacement. The 34-year-old will notch his 100th URC appearance if - and most likely when - he's called upon.

Elsewhere,18-year-old fly-half Carwyn Leggat-Jones makes his first URC start, with Billy McBryde providing cover off the bench after his hasty loan move from RGC.

Second row Jac Price also starts a league game for the first time, while centre Joe Roberts and flanker Max Douglas both return from injury.

Scarlets: J Davies; Page, Roberts, Williams (capt), Lewis; Leggatt-Jones, G Davies; Hepburn, Van der Merwe, Holz, Price, Lousi, Douglas, Taylor, Anderson.

Benetton are also much changed from their scrappy defeat in Cardiff, with head coach Calum MacRae having 14 players selected In Italy's Six Nations squad.

However, the Azzurri have released both Alessandro Izekor and Paolo Odogwu back to their club side for this weekend.

Ogodwu, who was capped by England Under-20s before switching allegiance, shifts from the wing to outside centre as Fijian powerhouse Onisi Ratave returns in the 11 shirt.

With fly-half Jacob Umaga still sidelined, new Argentine international Nicolas Roger Farias keeps his place.

Scarlets players celebrate the dramatic win over Ulster last week

We head to Italy for round 11 of the United Rugby Championship (URC) tonight.

And for both Benetton and Scarlets, the clash tonight signifies their last game for almost a month due to the 2026 Six Nations schedule.

Hardy fans from west Wales will have travelled with that extra bit of bounce and optimism following the dramatic late win over Ulster last weekend, a result which took Scarlets off the bottom of the table.

Now, Nigel Davies' side are chasing back-to-back successes for the first time this season, but their task appears anything but simple with the squad ravaged by Welsh call-ups.

With that in mind, let's look at the team news.
