They got narrow in midfield, they tried to shut the gate but you are so close to your own line you cannot defend.

Lomu-esque stuff! How good is this guy? How poor is it for England to leave space like that, as Matthieu Jalibert this time does the damage with a left-footed kick that is on the money and Louis Bielle-Biarrey scoops it up superbly to score.

A cheese dream made real. That pre-match ceremony was something else and the game is living up to it thus far.

Love that mindset from England. Patient, precise and accurate. They deserved that, and had to respond.

Try - France 7-5 Englandpublished at 10 mins

    Tom Roebuck

What a start in Paris! A brilliant try, Fin Smith is involved nicely in an eight-phase attack and Elliot Daly then has time to pick out Roebuck in the corner to slide in.

Smith can't nail a very tough kick.

England will be really disappointed with that. It was a brilliant finish, but they gave the penalty away and France trucked it up the left hand side. Bielle-Biarrey is an absolute wizard out there.

There was nothing on. An easy gather for England. Elliot Daly got taken apart in the backfield.

You have to defend the basics.

I was just about to say we know what that normally means and France score with their first attack!

Thomas Ramos kicks in behind, Cadan Murley motors across to cover but doesn't get there and the electric LBB picks it up score YET again.

    France 0-0 England

There will be people struggling with a kit clash here, they are both wearing white shorts for a start. The wide TV angle makes it hard to tell the sides apart. Could be a ready-made excuse for one side or the other later on...

It's a really positive start from England. Making all the running but France turn the ball over and rip it out of the tackle.

That would have been a remarkable score. England have a scrum in a very dangerous area though.

A sharp start, good kick off and chase and tackle by Roebuck. They engaged the French backline to put the ball behind them - a good start.

This powder blue France top is superb, it has to be said..

What a start from England as Elliot Daly kicks it ahead and Seb Atkinson touches it down - but there was a knock-on!

England players and fans certainly belt out God Save The King with gusto but the roof comes off for La Marseillaise. Delivered a cappela as is the norm these days.

    Goosebumps.

Stick them in the lineout. There's more pyro than a Metallica gig as England and France step into the dark in Paris.

Superb scene setting stuff. France were involved in a 90-point game last week, what on earth are they going to contribute to tonight?
