The Warriors have swapped their front row, with Alex Craig and Gregor Brown also coming on. That's almost all their forward replacements on.

  2. Smith shinespublished at 61 mins

Brilliant bit of cover defence from Ollie Smith to bundle Darcy Graham into touch when the wee winger looked certain to score.

Smith has been outstanding. His massive boot has taken Glasgow up the pitch, he's looked dangerous with ball in hand and he has had some big defensive plays.

    Oh dear, Darcy.

The little winger picks up from the back of a ruck and tries to dance his way past a few defenders, but loses the ball.

It's not going his way. Barely involved today and when he has been, it's not come off.

    Glasgow Warriors 19-5 Edinburgh

Edinburgh steal the line-out and Ben Vellacott breaks away!

He steps Kyle Steyn and looks to go all the way, but George Horne comes back to bring down his opposite number.

    Edinburgh aren't done yet.

    Glasgow Warriors 19-5 Edinburgh

Edinburgh kick to the corner and Harri Morris is on to take the throw. He picks the ball up at the back but he crosses with one of his teammates, and Glasgow get the penalty.

The visitors' response comes to naught.

Boan Venter is on and already causing carnage. He scored two tries here last year remember!

The big prop splintered off a driving maul and almost went over. Instead, he's held up and Cammy Scott slings a pass out to Darcy Graham - remember him? - but he's bundled into touch by Ollie Smith.

They have the advantage, at least.

Edinburgh are having to make so many tackles and the energy has come out of them.

Glasgow have upped the energy and accuracy, and drove the Edinburgh pack over with relative ease.

  8. try

    Gregor Hiddleston

    Like London buses...

Glasgow's pressure really starting to tell. This time, their driving maul cannot be repelled and the white scrum cap of Hiddleston pokes through and goes over the line.

It's the hardest kick of Adam Hastings night, and it strikes the upright.

    Chris Paterson

It's a little bit of footwork from Rory Darge. Edinburgh were expecting the ball to be used quicker and too many players got drawn to the breakdown.

Darge just shifts his bodyweight and makes it look easier than it should've been.

Franco Smith still doesn't look too happy.

    Rory Darge

Another Glasgow penalty, and once again they're trying to force their way over from short range. It only worked once in the first half, can it work again in the second?

Yes it can! Darge spots a gap as Edinburgh's defence tires, right under the posts as well.

Adam Hastings converts and Glasgow can breathe again.

It's Glasgow who fire the first shot of the second half, with the ball wide in Kyle Steyn's paws. He shoots forward like a piston, but is just about held up.

His run has got Glasgow deep into Edinburgh's backyard though. They go back to the centre before Sione Tuipulotu stabs a kick out wide for Steyn to run onto...

But there's too much on it.

    Glasgow Warriors 7-5 Edinburgh

That's the players back out already, and there's a change for Edinburgh. The young tighthead Ollie Blyth-Lafferty is off, replaced by Paul Hill.

We saw that same change last week. It wouldn't surprise me to see the 19-year-old in the Six Nations squad in a month or so. Keep an eye on his name.

    Anyway, we're back under way.

Glasgow have shown a lot of attacking ambition, spread the ball well, seen Jamie Dobie's dazzling feet - but Edinburgh's defence has been the main talking point.

They've held up really well. They've come off the line, putting in good shots, and when it gets to the try line, they've held up Glasgow three times.

Glasgow are carrying it back into the ruck and they can't unleash the backs.

  14. Half-time Glasgow Warriors 7-5 Edinburghpublished at 15:45 GMT 20 December 2025

Given Glasgow's dominance of the ball, Edinburgh will be over the moon with the scoreline.

Matt Fagerson put Glasgow ahead from short range, before Dylan Richardson scored with Edinburgh's first real foray down into enemy territory.

There is an argument to say Glasgow's attack has been a little one dimensional, and Edinburgh have - mostly - had the answers to it, holding up three over the line.

A score that might surprise some - but what will the second half bring?

It's another ball held up on the line! The third this half.

This time it's Max Williamson who bored over, but couldn't get the ball down as Edinburgh players swarmed around the ball.

    Brilliant last-ditch defence.

  16. Dobie does Darcypublished at 38 mins

Darcy Graham won't want to see that back. Jamie Dobie has absolutely done him on the outside there with a lovely step and fend.

Mind you, Dobie might not want to watch it back either. That pass had to go to George Horne.

  17. Postpublished at 38 mins

Glasgow have the advantage now, and they're taking it short. They're trying to go from short range, with 90 seconds remaining in this first half.

  18. Postpublished at 37 mins

    Glasgow Warriors 7-5 Edinburgh

Ohhhh, there was a chance for Jamie Dobie.

Put away on the left by a huge miss pass from Adam Hastings - which may have gone forward - he stepped away from Darcy Graham and just had to feed George Horne inside.

Instead, he held on and Wes Goosen lined him up and tackled him into touch.

  19. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Glasgow Warriors 7-5 Edinburgh

Oh dear. Edinburgh spill the restart and Glasgow look to respond immediately.

They charge through the phases towards the line, like a crash of angry rhinos. Rory Darge tries to go over, but he's held up.

There was an advantage, and Glasgow go for it again from short distance. This time it's Jack Dempsey, but somehow Pierre Schoeman gets an arm under the ball.

    Another drop-out.

It all happens pretty quickly. Edinburgh's maul is motoring quickly, and Glasgow compete but don't fully commit.

Edinburgh are right back in it having not dow a huge amount in this match.
