What a dramatic ending to their 2025 Women's Six Nations campaigns for Scotland and Ireland as the hosts secure the victory with the last play of the game.

An incredible effort from Scotland, but Ireland will surely feel that they left points out there.

Bryan Easson on bouncing back after last week's loss: "I think we've had a couple of difficult performances during the Six Nations but we did a review last week after the England game and as soon as the game was finished, we drew a line under it.

"As soon as we got off the flight last week, it was all about this week.

"It was all about fighting for each other."

"I don't know what the possession stats were but we had to fight to get everything that we got today.

"Defensively, we were absolutely outstanding, some of the turnovers.

"Then to have the skill to score. We deserved everything we got today because of the fight and the heart in that team performance.

"I can't tell you what I felt at the end there."

The amount of pride these girls have in this jersey, playing at home, you really saw what it means to be Scottish out there.

"We wanted to come out and show heart and pride in the jersey at home and I think we did exactly that today.

"We pride ourselves on our work and I think we really showed that today. We came into this game with belief and we continued to believe throughout.

"We picked ourselves up and just kept going. We knew we had it in us."

What a match in Edinburgh and what a finish! Scotland ensure that they will not receive the dreaded Wooden Spoon with a bonus point win and, while Ireland will still finish third with a losing bonus point, they will be disappointed as they certainly left points out there.

Fantastic scenes, what a match!

Scotland on the attack midway inside the Irish half and it is a penalty to the hosts. It is within kicking range but their kicker Helen Nelson is still in the bin so Lisa Thompson knocks it into the corner.

The clock is almost in the red. This is for the match!

Brilliant scramble defence from Ireland snuffs out a Sciottish attack. A combination of Dannah O'Brien and Claire Boles force Lucia Scott into touch.

However, Cliodhna Moloney's throw is not straight so it is turnover ball.

All the momentum is with Ireland but Scotland have showed a tremendous amount of heart to stay in this game.

Scott Bemand has really chosen his bench well, they're really adding value.

Helen Nelson is sent to the bin for a ruck penalty as she desperately tries to clamp on the ball on her own line.

She is the victim of a string of penalties but will miss pretty much the entire rest of the game.

You can hear [Scotland captain] Rachel Malcom saying "calm in the chaos" which is outstanding leadership at this stage of the game.

The scrums are getting a little messy here. Scotland are struggling to keep an even footing and Ireland, perhaps sensing the dominance, are too eager to engage and need to be careful not to be penalised for that.

A huge scrum from Ireland wins a penalty just over five metres from the Scotland line.

Unsurprisingly, they will have another one of those!

Rugby is a game of inches and that piece of play proves it! A chip over the top is caught by Helen Wilson. Her momentum takes her towards the side line but the touch judge concludes that she went over the line.

Replays show just how close it was before she threw the ball back in. Ireland will look to take advantage as both sides change their entire front rows at one go!

Scotland have been under the cosh for much of this game and you have to admire their sheer doggedness in carving out this lead.
