It wasn't good enough today, but it's not all doom and gloom for Ireland. It was a tough day at the office, but lots to build on, and the better team won, no doubt.

I disagree, Cameron. Sam Prendergast, I thought, produced some big moments today in attack.

He gets a tough time but was one of Ireland's better players today.

It was patient stuff and high-quality attack from New Zealand. Credit to Ireland - they were brave and defended really well, and there was nothing they could have done there.

Will Jordan's offload was absolutely spectacular. That really rubber stamps this.

Will Jordan lures in Robert Baloucoune before unleashing Anton Lienert-Brown. So, so good.

You need Robert Baloucoune there, not Ciaran Frawley.

France managed to grab two points against New Zealand. This is a big final five minutes.

    It is getting loose.

One try and conversion, Ireland walk away with two points.

You just have to keep crediting Ireland's resilience.

They just hang in there and hang in there.

Ireland get a penalty for a dangerous clearout. Time to chase that bonus-point try.

Oh no, Sam Prendergast misses touch.

Ireland have made too many unforced errors.

    Martin, Colchester

Despite Ireland's injuries they've held themselves well on this tour. Few mistakes defensively and on the line-outs in previous games to work on, but plenty of positives with new guys coming through. Wasn't a bad start to the Championships.

Sam Prendergast comes in for a lot of criticism at times, but this has been a great example of the other side of his game.

He makes a phenomenal kick to touch to get Ireland their field position, and bides his time so well, slips back to that blind side and gets that pass to Hugo Keenan to get the grounding.

If Ireland lose this game, they will want to go out on their shield, and they have 15 minutes to do that.
