    Great response by Wales.

That driving maul was beautiful, tight, together, the momentum was there and Jones knew exactly where that try line is.

Wales respond instantly and are level!

It's pure forward pack power as a maul charges forward from a 10 metre line-out and Kelsey Jones breaks off and dives over.

Wales were pushed right back to their own end from their first visit to Scotland's 22 and the visitors countered quickly to open gaps in Wales' defence and run over for their first try.

Emma Orr makes the break and finds Rhona Lloyd and with Chloe Rollie on the overlap too, Lloyd makes the pass for her to score.

This is a sign of Tyrone Holmes' impact on Wales looking really comfortable in defence, only committing two players and Scotland not dealing with that.

Scotland were just going lateral there, slowing down, which allowed Crabb to get over the ball.

    Wales 0-0 Scotland

Scotland have had a lot of the ball these opening five minutes but haven't been able to make much ground.

Wales' Gwenn Crabb then wins the ball at the breakdown and gives the hosts a penalty to kick the ball and gain some field position.

It was a great lineout and the one coach we haven't mentioned is Dave Butcher.

He's come in and you can see the impact from that.

Not the best first touch for debutant Jorja Aiono, but it's heartening to see how many Wales players rushed up to her to give her a pat on the back.

    Wales 0-0 Scotland

Scotland win a scrum inside the first 90 seconds after a knock-on from debutant Joja Aiono on for Wales.

The Scots win the penalty and Helen Nelson kicks out for a line-out deep in Wales' 22 to give them an attacking line-out but Wales win the ball back from the set piece and clear their lines.

  9. Kick-offpublished at 16:46 BST 11 April

    Wales 0-0 Scotland

We've had the anthems, we've had the fireworks, we've had the light show, we've had the delay and now slightly later than billed Scotland fly-half Helen Nelson takes kick-off and we're under way.

What an atmosphere at the Principality Stadium.

Both sides just raring to go, the anthems were immense.

Was so nice to see Bartlett on her 50th cap talking to Coubrough on her first cap.

  11. Kick-off delayed by five minutespublished at 16:43 BST 11 April

We were meant to get going at 16:40 BST but we've been delayed by five minutes as the referee's communications aren't set up.

Captains have been told to keep their team warms so back to drills on the pitch they go. Hopefully we're up and running soon.

Scotland head coach Sione Fukofuka speaking on BBC One Wales: "It's been a real exciting time.

"We want to establish what the identity of this team is, which is a team that can play 80 minutes plus with relentless play."

Wales head coach Sean Lynn speaking on BBC One Wales: "They've come in and we've spoken about how fast can we be connected, the past two weeks have been brilliant.

"I'm hoping we'll see their confidence and their form. Jorja Aiono will bring in that work rate and physicality, and Seren Singleton just works so hard in her flow attack and kick chase.

"We had a review of last year and we've moved on."

I think the amount of time this Scotland side have had together is limited.

Sione Fukofuka coming in from the Southern hemisphere and then from the USA will bring some attacking flare rugby.

Speaking to some of the girls, they're loving the energy and intent that Ioan Cunningham has brought.

Yes, the stats aren't the best - one win in 10.

But these things take time, you can't just place one man in Sean Lynn and expect him to change things instantly.

He inherited Ioan Cunningham's players and backroom staff to a World Cup, but now he's been able to select his own team and he's a lot more educated on what is available to him.

It does feel more of a refresher feel than when he stepped into the role this time last year.

I was sat in my local coffee shop this morning as Wales' centre pairing Courtney Keight and Carys Cox were working through the playbook while sipping their flat whites.

How much of it we'll get to see today remains to be seen, but hopefully under interim attack coach Ashley Beck we can see the backline really show what it can do.

No spoilers from me what those calls are, but it sounds like an expansive and exciting gameplan.

France got the 2026 Women's Six Nations under way with a rousing 40-7 win against Italy this lunchtime.

They scored six tries to romp into a 40-0 lead before the Italians scored in the closing moments, to ensure they didn't leave with nothing on the board.

World champions England then followed up with a bonus point win of their own, beating Ireland 33-12 in front of 77,000 at the Allianz Stadium.

I think the start of the new cycle is a very important period.

It's an opportunity for the new coaching staff, new players to really push themselves in an environment and stadium like this against top teams.

We have to see this game as a huge opportunity, Scotland have made a lot of changes and this is the chance to step up.
