Wales have played a fantastic first half, the intent was physical and direct.

Italy were somewhat waiting for opportunities, not much possession, they just put pressure in the air which they did well.

Kirk has just asked about the prospects of England getting the wooden spoon.

If Wales can run in a few more tries in the second half then they would be level on points with England.

They would then need Steve Borthwick's side to get absolutely smashed by title-chasing France in Paris.

Wales started the round on -96 and England are on +4.

Unlikely, but when Les Bleus are in the mood...

Can England get the Wooden Spoon?

    Kirk, England

Wales going multi phase and chucking the ball to the edge. England, once again, you watching?

    Matt, Truro

Such a shame we played England first!

What an opening half from Wales.

It doesn't look like a team that hasn't won in how many thousand days.

The Italians will be happy to see half-time.

I don't think Gonzalo Quesada was expecting this score line when he woke up.

That's it after a wonderful first half for Wales, who are in a great position to end their 15-game losing streak in the Six Nations.

A double by Aaron Wainwright and a try by captain Dewi Lake have put Steve Tandy's side in command.

A big blow loosing Francis so soon.

He's been brilliant in the scrum, and you can see Italy targeting that.

Wainwright and Botham with big carries in the 22 to get Wales to within five metres but Italy succeed with a choke tackle.

A scrum to finish the half. Italy surely won't play out from here?

Another big moment for Wales with Rhys Carre getting over the ball when Lorenzo Pani had tried to run out of his half.

A hint of hands on the floor but the prop gets away with it and Wales will finish the half hunting their bonus point.

Something goes wrong for the first time in a while for Wales with Eddie James knocking on after a strike play from a scrum (which has gone well for Wales).

Italy boot the ball down field but Josh Adams deals with it calmly to clear.

Meanwhile, Tomas Francis is going off and Archie Griffin is coming on at tight-head.

Holy Wainwright, this is good. Keep it up, please - my heart can't handle another Scotland.

For Wainwrights 2nd try - why weren't Wales penalised for collapsing the maul?

The lineout hasn't been great by the Italians.

The backed the ball to the tail, they were slow to commit to the drive.

    Italy have to regroup here.

Hymns and Arias booms out at Principality Stadium with Wales giving the crowd plenty to get behind.

Another superb jackal by Dewi Lake - who has been immense - gives the home side the chance to attack in the Italy half again.

They have dominated possession and territory since hitting the front.

    What is going on?!

Total control from the Welsh pack, and as soon as it started moving moving there was only one way.

That was one of the easiest tries from a catch and drive.

Dewi Lake hits his man at the lineout and then guides the drive over.

Superb stuff by Wales, who are bossing this game.

Dan Edwards converts and it's 21-0.

    Who saw this dominance coming?

Turnover ball and Wales are on the attack again inside the 22. Italy scramble - with Rees-Zammit superbly tackled - but Wales have a penalty.

With a bit slicker passing they would have been over for a third try.

However, Edwards kicks for the corner and Wales will look to strike.

Brave to go to the corner, but it's paid off.

Ruzza goes for a surf and gets dragged down by Wales but that's a try for Wales.
