England escape to the sheds with a slender two-point lead, but this remains a dogfight with no easy way out.
Italy have the ability to strike from distance as Tomasso Menoncello showed with that carving line that sliced through the middle of England's defence for the hosts' try.
England have a lot of high-energy, high-impact options on the bench with Henry Pollock, Chandler Cunningham-South and Marcus Smith among the replacements.

How important will that Roebuck try be?
Italy were just starting to get on top and England were struggling for answers after that Menoncello try. But it will be a different vibe in the England changing room now they lead at the break.
England have scored two good tries, but for large parts they have looked clunky in their phase play and lacking accuracy and attention to detail - hallmarks of the side last year.
They are also asking a lot of Ben Earl as a ball-carrier. Italy have shown how dangerous they can be with the ball in hand. You feel this will go down to the wire.

I am not sure anyone touched Menoncello. Tommy Freeman is in disbelief. I find that so strange - three phases, and that’s not stretching England’s ability to defend as a team.
