    Luci McColm, goal Faye Gaskin

Boy did Saints need that - they're on the board just before the break.

Faye Gaskin's superb kick off allows them to get up field and Luci McColm dives over next to the sticks with the final move of the half.

    Gaskin then adds the extras.

    Anna Davies

    It's given!

Anna Davies returns well for Wigan and the Warriors begin their set 30 yards from their line.

Wigan glide up field and it's Davies who finishes off the move her set began by diving in the right corner under huge pressure - finishing superbly.

Isabel Rowe's superb attempt from touch to add the extras hits the bar - very unlucky.

Video referee Liam Rush is called into action for the first time today and it is adjudged that Wigan's Grace Banks was indeed in touch when she was forced out of play.

    Saints' challenge is successful.

    Wigan 24-0 St Helens

Wigan complete their set and chase into Saints territory.

Saints' Faye Gaskin's high up and under is well taken by Mary Coleman - and Wigan threaten a fifth try but after unselfish work from Eva Hunter, Grace Banks is forced out of play from some superb scrambling defence from Saints.

    Wigan 24-0 St Helens

    Jay Freeman
    BBC Sport at Wembley Stadium

It was 18-0 to Wigan at half-time last year and Denis Betts' side have already surpassed that figure before the half-hour mark.

This is shaping up to be an ominous afternoon for St Helens who haven't really offered anything.

  8. 'Salihi did really well to take that ball'published at 12:13 BST 30 May

    Wigan 24-0 St Helens

    Caitlin Beevers
Leeds Rhinos centre on BBC Two

Beri Salihi is a natural full-back so to see her in the centre position today probably made people a bit skeptical.

But it's all about the backing up of the players. There were Wigan numbers in abundance and she did really well to take that ball.

Wigan score a fourth try midway through the first half!

It's a great team move from the Warriors, down their left hand side once more, and former St Helens back Beri Salihi dives over against her old club.

Isabel Rowe then makes it four from four with the boot.

    Wigan 18-0 St Helens

Saints need a score quickly to give themselves a chance.

Zoe Harris - on her 100th appearance for the club - kicks in behind on the last but Wigan sweep across to their left side and mop up.

Leah Burke threatens to race down the field for St Helens but excellent scrambling defending from Wigan stops her in her tracks.

  11. 'The minute Hunter gets the ball she takes off'published at 12:08 BST 30 May

    Wigan 18-0 St Helens

    Brian Noble
Former Great Britain coach on BBC Two

Eva Hunter has got great leg speed, the minute she gets the ball she takes off.

The Wigan team just push real well. In the build-up to that there's so many decisions for the Saints defenders to make that's it's real difficult If you make slightly the wrong one, she's gone.

    Wigan 18-0 St Helens

    Jay Freeman
    BBC Sport at Wembley Stadium

St Helens let this game get away from them in the first half last year.

They cannot afford to do that again. The next 10 minutes will be critical.

CONVERTED TRY: Wigan 18-0 St Helenspublished at 12:03 BST 30 May

    Eva Hunter, goal Isabel Rowe

Too good - two tries in five minutes at Wembley for the Wigan second-rower Eva Hunter!

Hunter breaks through the lines and sweeps aside a challenge on the left wing, turning and smiling towards her teammates before dotting down with ease.

What a feeling that must be to score at Wembley, never mind doing it twice!

    Isabel Rowe adds the extras.

  14. 'Such a good start for Wigan'published at 12:02 BST 30 May

This is such a good start for Wigan when your first carry scatters the pigeons.

  15. 'Brilliant try for Hunter'published at 12:00 BST 30 May

That was why Eva Hunter was picked out at the start of the game as one to watch.

It's as easy as that when Wigan play at their line.

    Brilliant try for Hunter.

No one is stopping Eva Hunter - Wigan are in control of this one early doors!

Hunter raises down the left wing and and dots down behind the sticks.

Two chances for the Warriors, two tries for the Warriors.

Isabel Rowe adds the extras for a second time.

  17. Postpublished at 11:57 BST 30 May

    Wigan 6-0 St Helens

Erin McDonald does well to adjust a pass that was behind her and Amy Hardcastle threatens to burst forward for Saints.

Dani McGifford is then wrapped up by Anna Davies on the last and Wigan get the ball back.

  18. 'You can't give Wigan field possession like that'published at 11:56 BST 30 May

    Wigan 6-0 St Helens

    Caitlin Beevers
Leeds Rhinos centre on BBC Two

It was a matter of time, you can't give Wigan field possession like that especially with the penalty on the back of it.

I think Saints are so confined to the play of the ball that they're not looking up at what's in front of them.

Stuff like that is going to happen every day of the week if they're going to carry on like that.

Wigan take the lead inside six minutes!

Captain Georgia Wilson finds a space on the Saints' left edge to drive forward and dive over comfortably.

Isabel Rowe then nails the extras beautifully from the right side.

    Great start for the holders.

    Wigan 0-0 St Helens

    Jay Freeman
    BBC Sport at Wembley Stadium

Having been here last week for the League One play-off final, it's cooler today.

But not by much. It's stifling in the sun. That didn't impact that game, but we've got two games today and this one's kicking off with the midday sun covering much of the pitch.

So you'd imagine that might slow the game down somewhat.
