Sean O'Malley spoke after his victory against Song Yadong: "Petr Yan has something that I want. You want that rematch, I want that belt. Let's make it happen.

"God it feels good to win! I hate losing.

"He was a lot slower than I thought - I built it up in my head that he was going to be as fast as me, but he wasn't.

"This is the first time [my daughter] has seen me fight live. She said if I win she will give me a surprise, so I was not losing."

  2. 'Pimblett by submssion'published at 04:43 GMT 25 January

Justin moves in a certain way, he leaves an opening for an underhook or a foot sweep or something like that, takes the back, hits a triangle, whatever it is. He's very creative. I've got Paddy Pimblett winning by way of submission and becoming the interim champion of the world.

Unsurprisingly, Justin Gaethje is getting the biggest cheers of the night. He's appeared on the big screen several times and every time his face pops up, so does the volume.

Paddy Pimblett is also being cheered, just not as loudly.

  7. O'Malley backs Pimblettpublished at 04:31 GMT 25 January

    Gaethje v Pimblett

Former UFC bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley is also backing Paddy Pimblett to win tonight.

"I really like Justin, he's always exciting to watch and he's always super entertaining, but I feel like it's Paddy's time right now. He's manifested this big moment. Regardless it's going to be a banger of a fight and I'm excited to watch it. I think it's crazy Gaethje is a 3-1 underdog. I think it's closer than that, but Paddy has a lot of ways to get the job done."

  8. Into the final roundpublished at 04:27 GMT 25 January

    O'Malley v Yadong

Into the third and final round of Sean O'Malley and Song Yadong. This one is wide open right now, it's too close to call.

Song has worked on the leg of O'Malley so his movement is hampered but let's see what he can come up with.

  9. Who remembers Gaethje v Holloway?published at 04:25 GMT 25 January

    Gaethje v Pimblett

Judging by Justin Gaethje's fight with Max Holloway, anything could happen here.

With 10 seconds to go in round five, both stood in the centre of the cage and threw heavy hands. Holloway landed with one second to go to leave Gaethje flat out.

We wouldn't say no to a bit of that!

You only have to go to Paddy Pimblett's Next Generation Gym in Liverpool to see the influence he's had on youngsters and the people around him.

Pimblett's head coach Paul Rimmer told me earlier this month "we've had kids coming in with his haircut for years", while team-mate Luke Riley explained what him winning the title would mean.

"If he walked back in here a champion, it would motivate the gym even more. To see the captain with the gold is what we need," said Riley.

Riley also said the plan was to set up a big screen in the gym so everybody could watch Pimblett's title fight together.

I can only imagine the nerves and excitement in the gym right now if this is happening.

Spoke to UFC legend Kamaru Usman before tonight's main event, and while he expects great things from Paddy Pimblett, he's backing his fellow American.

"He's a legend. I've worked with Justin Gaethje, trained with him, he's my brother. Of course, I'm expecting him to go out there and do what he does best."

  15. 2025 was my most peaceful year - O'Malleypublished at 04:07 GMT 25 January

Sean O'Malley might be heading into his bantamweight fight against Song Yadong on the back of two defeats by Merab Dvalishvili, but it did not stop him having the most peaceful year he's ever had in 2025.

The American fought once last year where he was submitted by Dvalishvili in June, before taking a step back to enjoy other areas of his life.

O'Malley became a father for the second time, and also took some time away from social media.

"Just because I lost a fight doesn’t mean you suck. It doesn’t mean I had a bad year, it was a great year, the most peaceful I ever had," O'Malley told BBC Sport.

"I got off social media - Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Facebook. That’s what really made that change of peace. Fighting is still as important as before, I just have more peace.”

  16. We're almost therepublished at 04:03 GMT 25 January

    O'Malley v Yadong

Just ONE fight to go until Paddy Pimblett and Justin Gaethje are in that cage trying to knock each other out.

But first, Sean O'Malley takes on China's Song Yadong in the co-main event.

  17. 'Everyone underestimates me'published at 04:00 GMT 25 January

    Gaethje v Pimblett

Paddy Pimblett is the favourite against the vastly experienced Justin Gaethje and said he has the "desire and heart" to go five rounds with the American, but did not expect the fight to go beyond three.

"Nobody expects me to be as good as I am. Everyone underestimates me, but it helps in my favour," Pimblett said.

"It makes the fights easier for me because everyone underestimates me. I'm not Khabib (Nurmagomedov). No-one else is. I'm me.

"I'm an even harder puzzle to solve. I'm proper weird. You knew what Khabib was coming to do. You don't know what I'm coming to do."

  18. Pimblett full of beans & smiles in fight weekpublished at 03:56 GMT 25 January

    Coral Barry
BBC Sport at the T-Mobile Arena

Paddy Pimblett has been the picture of confidence this week. He's had loads of media commitments as the headliner for the UFC's first event on Paramount in the US.

But it doesn't seemed to have fazed him. He's grinned his way through most of the media events and took his opportunity to soak up the vibes from his fans at Friday's weigh-in.

Justin Gaethje tried in stages, but failed to get any angry response from the Liverpudlian.

Confidence, though, has never been an issue for the Baddy.

  19. Pimblett to 'win easy' - Topuriapublished at 03:53 GMT 25 January

    Gaethje v Pimblett

UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria thinks Paddy Pimblett will travel back to Liverpool as the winner.

"I think [Pimblett's] going to win, easy. [Gaethje] doesn't know how to grapple, and Paddy knows that. Have you ever seen him submit someone? If you have the ability to submit someone as soon as you can, you would do it."

  20. Harrison withdraws from Nunes fightpublished at 03:50 GMT 25 January

    Harrison v Nunes

In a huge blow for UFC 324, one of the most anticipated fights in women's MMA history was postponed, as UFC bantamweight champion Kayla Harrison had to withdraw from her title defence against Amanda Nunes.

Harrison required surgery to repair herniated discs in her neck, she confirmed on social media on Thursday. She flew to New York last weekend to consult with UFC doctors, who recommended the procedure.

Hopefully, a quick recovery for Harrison so we can see this one further down the line.
