Paddy's corner told him to stay in the middle and box him or get him into the corner for a take down.

But Paddy has only attempted two or three takedowns this fight.

He needs to finish this.

Pimblett goes for his first takedown but Gaethje resists him well so far.

A massive overhand right lands from Gaethje but Pimblett eats it.

Pimblett has three and a half minutes to create history but he needs something special.

The fifth and final round. This is where it all matters.

The crowd stands to applaud these two warriors. What have they got left?

Pimblett lands a nice combination with 10 seconds remaining and he walks but to his stool with his hands in the air.

His face is covered in blood but he's still in this. His corner tells him he "needs to finish him if you want the belt".

Blood is pouring from the nose of Pimblett now as Gaethje lands at ease.

Say what you want about Pimblett but he is as tough as they come.

So many times I've thought this fight is done but Pimblett keeps coming back.

I'm not sure how much he's got left in the tank now, though. Gaethje is hurting him.

Pimblett eats a massive right hand and he's hurt again. Can he find a third wind?

Pimblett has his second wind here after the terrible ending to round two. He's pushing the pace and landing the better blows but we all know that Gaethje is always dangerous.

Two rounds to go.

Pimblett lands a hard left and Gaethje is unsteady on his feet.

It's a great round from Pimblett so far but Gaethje eats a low knee and deserves a breather.

The Vegas crowd chants "Paddy, Paddy, Paddy" as he lands nice jabs.

Gaethje smells blood, though, as Pimblett's eye pours with blood once again.

Pimblett's corner is almost begging him to land a takedown but he's not attempted one yet.

He needs something to keep Gaethje off him here or else we might not see this round out.

Oh no, replays show Gaethje downed Pimblett with a strike and his thumb went straight in Pimblett's eye.

Pimblett survives the round but how much has he got left? He may be done here.

He eats a massive forearm with a second to go and it's busted his right eye up and his nose.

Pimblett is in big trouble here. Gaethje has him down and is unloading.
