PCB is coming to the net a lot more to force the issue. Good first serves are helping him do that.

He holds to 15 as the German plays a forehand long.

They are going through these games at a rate of knots.

    Zverev 3-6 2-6 6-3 6-4 3-1 Carreno Busta*

Ace down the T. Two more aces, his 22nd and 23rd and it's a beautiful love hold.

    Procession time.

  4. Postpublished at 00:21 BST 12 September 2020

    *Zverev 3-6 2-6 6-3 6-4 2-1 Carreno Busta

The Spaniard shows a lot of heart by coming to the net and winning the next point with a volley, before Zverev finds the net with a forehand on the run.

    Hold.

    Zverev 3-6 2-6 6-3 6-4 2-0 Carreno Busta*

30-0 but then the 6ft 2in Spaniard produced two errors on his forehand.

    30s each.

    Worrying times for him.

    Zverev 3-6 2-6 6-3 6-4 2-0 Carreno Busta*

The 6ft 6in German eventually holds with forehand smash at the net.

    A crucial hold.

    *Zverev 3-6 2-6 6-3 6-4 1-0 Carreno Busta

Deuce as PCB produces a forehand winner - this is all very tentative.

This sort of demeanour will be severely taken advantage of by either Medvedev or Thiem.

    Must improve.

    *Zverev 3-6 2-6 6-3 6-4 1-0 Carreno Busta

Having said that, he could really do with cutting out those double faults. His eighth brings up 30-30.

  9. Zverev breakspublished at 00:12 BST 12 September 2020

    *Zverev 3-6 2-6 6-3 6-4 1-0 Carreno Busta

Zverev brings up break point as he dashes forward and smashes home a winner.

PCB then attempts a forehand with top spin, but puts too much top on it.

He's broken. This will be a one way street now.

    How's that hip/pelvis PCB?

0-15 before his attempt at a sliced drop drops into the netting. Weak.

    Who's your money on now?

What do you mean neither of them?!!

Carreno Busta got tight, played passively and there were more errors, while Zverev has got better.

That was probably good timing for Busta to have that break. It's a chance to refocus his mind.

PCB is having a medical time out. His pelvis is the target of the treatment.

He could do with a psychologist too.

    Zverev 3-6 2-6 6-3 6-4 Carreno Busta*

An ace and we're heading to a fifth.

Who would have thought that after 85 minutes of this contest.

Maybe it'll come to life in the decider. Maybe.

    Ace.

    15-0.

Zverev will like a few more of those to take the match into a fifth.

That bit of aggro will spice things up and get things going.

Busta played possibly his best point of the match.

PCB eventually holds thanks to a forehand smacked right at the body of Zverev - which the German is not happy with. The Spaniard explains he wasn't trying to hit him. And then a gentle volley at the net.

PCB apologises to his opponent again as they take the chairs.
