"For me this is an emergency right now. I'll ask and see if they'll allow me to use the ice bath. If not I'll try to get back to the hotel as quickly as I can,

"That's by far the most tennis I've played since the Aussie Open in 2019."

More from Andy Murray: "I had to start striking the ball a bit better. I was hitting the ball a bit late, a bit tentatively.

"I went the other way of trying to take too many chances and making errors.

"I didn't have the balance right. At the end I started to get the balance. I had to change a few things for sure."

"At the beginning of the match I was apprehensive about playing a long match because I hadn't played one in a while.

Paul Christie: I stand corrected. Do not retire after that comeback. I still don't think he has the fitness and stamina to grind it out for 2 weeks at these things but that was a pleasure to watch. Superb Andy.

Davestwin7: Never doubted @andy_murray, external for a second. (Ok maybe I did a little.) Get in.

James: Andy!!! This match reminded me of Andy's last Slam singles match at AO 2019 v Bautista Agut. Thankfully a different result. Andy is a warrior.

Phenomenal. The hip is the least of his worries when he wakes up tomorrow morning.

Boy, is he going to be sore. He's come through again. A lot of players stopped by to watch. Murray is a draw card when it comes to being watched by other players.

Both players deserved it. Extraordinary match.

    What an incredible win.

After all those months without playing matches. To get through that physically, what an achievement.

We have to wait and see now how his hip bears up over the next day or two.

    Incredible fight, incredible tenacity.

How has Andy Murray managed to claw this one of the fire? He was two sets down, he was 3-1 and a break down in the third. He looked absolutely finished.

But, as we've seen so often, he finds every ounce of strength he's got to take the third and fourth sets via tie-breaks and then he's won the fifth set.

He looks absolutely shattered. But the win will definitely ease that pain.
