    Lopez 6-2 2-2 Simon*

Lopez lands a lovely forehand down the line and Simon challenges. It's a fair challenge, because it's in by 12mm, but in it is.

Simon's forehand isn't so lovely. It lands long and Lopez holds.

Both these players are nearing the 12-hour mark for time spent on court this week now.

Lopez keeps that down a bit with another ace, then passes Simon with a forehand at the net.

  3. Another day, another Federer titlepublished at 14:33 BST 23 June 2019

A little update from Halle, where Roger Federer is back to his winning ways.

    He's sealed a record-extending 10th title there with a straight-set win over Belgium's David Goffin.

    Lopez 6-2 0-2 Simon*

It looked like the momentum had shifted, but maybe not.

Lopez quickly goes 30-0 up on Simon's serve. Another lengthy rally ensues and Simon blinks first, hitting a forehand into the net. Three break back points.

On the flag-waving Lopez fans... I've noticed the Spanish love to take a flag to the tennis.

The upper tier at Roland Garros for the men's final - when Rafa Nadal was playing, of course - looked like the ultras section at the Bernabeu at times.

Doesn't appear to be a massive thing for the British. Am I wrong? You see a few at Wimbledon obviously, but not on the same scale.

I'm interested. Anyone out there own a Union Jack? And when do you take it out?

Well this is different. A second double fault of the match for Lopez, then a missed drop shot and Simon has three break points.

  9. Barty closing in on top spotpublished at 14:28 BST 23 June 2019

    Gorges 3-6 5-4 Barty*

Meanwhile, over in Birmingham, French Open champion Ashleigh Barty is closing in on the world number one ranking.

The Australian took the first set 6-3 against Julia Gorges in the final, and they are level in the second.

If Barty wins, she will replace Naomi Osaka at the top of the rankings.

He may be a set down, but Simon still means business.

He jumps up from deep behind the baseline and slams a backhand winner down the line. A straightforward hold for the Frenchman.

  11. 'Vamos Feli!'published at 14:26 BST 23 June 2019

Lopez might be an honorary Brit this week, but there are also a few Spanish voices heard in a packed centre court.

Several shouts of 'Vamos Feli!' are shouted at the man from Madrid in support, while one patriotic couple in the upper tier stand up and unfurl their Spanish flag at the end of the set.

The wild wave in the west London breeze tells us they're happy.

    Lopez 6-2 Simon

Simon hasn't been having a great time on his second serve. He's only won 33% of points played on it which isn't great when he's only getting 59% of first serves in.

The serve saves the day again. This time it's an ace straight down the middle.

Simon does a bit of shouting at himself after his backhand return lands out to give Lopez set point.

He wins with what else? Another ace.

A nice quick first set for Lopez, who still has to play the doubles final with Andy Murray after this.

Simon goes for a lob but he's misjudged it and the ball lands long. That's one break point gone.

A steamroller of an ace from Lopez and it's deuce. The pair go back and forth, hovering around deuce for a while, but a brilliant backhand on the run from Simon brings up another break point.
