    The canopies around court three are acting more as windbreaks than sun protection so far - it’s a blustery Melbourne morning, but that has not stopped serve dominating this one as expected. Anderson is starting to find his groove but Edmund is certainly edging it in terms of support.

    The South African looks to seize the opportunity to bring his shuttles to an end, but fires a backhand into the tramlines.

    There's a lot of frame on that return from Edmund, did it catch the line? Hawk Eyes says 'yes'. Edmund recovers to deuce.

    Magdalena Rybarikova, the Slovakian who reached the Wimbledon semi-finals last year, isn't hanging around - she bageled American Taylor Townsend 6-0 in just 18 minutes on court two.
