    Scotland v New Zealand (14:15)

So, what do Scotland have to do to pull off a shock win?

Stop conceding daft penalties would be a good place to start since ill-discipline has been a growing problem for some time now.

Hope that Finn Russell is in the mood to prove the head coach was wrong to leave him out.

If those two elements combine with everyone else having a stormer of a day, then it might just happen...

  16. Do it for Doddie, is captain's messagepublished at 14:11 GMT 13 November 2022

    Scotland v New Zealand (14:15)

Murrayfield rose as one to greet Doddie Weir that day in 2017, with the Scotland legend bringing out the match ball before kick-off and accompanied by his sons.

Weir, who has been battling against motor neurone disease with such a brave face, is in attendance again today, marking five years since the launch of his charity which has raised millions.

Captain Jamie Ritchie said the presence of Weir will be "hugely inspirational".

"I said to the boys out there during the team run, 'If you need any other motivation than to do it for him, then I don't know what to say'," explained the back-row yesterday.

  17. What happened in 2017?published at 14:09 GMT 13 November 2022

    Scotland v New Zealand (14:15)

Scotland have not always been beaten by the All Blacks since there have been two draws across the 31 meetings, including an improbable 0-0 in Edinburgh in 1964.

Five years ago, on their last visit to these parts, New Zealand were given a scare as they held on for 22-17 win.

Stuart Hogg made an impressive dash for the corner late on, only to be denied by a superb cover-tackle from Beauden Barrett.

The full-back, who was absolutely fantastic that day, may still have the odd sleepless night about it.

  18. Big day for Christie familypublished at 14:07 GMT 13 November 2022

Finlay Christie was raised in Peebles and spent some time in Aberdeen before his parents moved to the other side of the world when he was seven.

Mum and dad and brother Gregor are at the game today cheering him on as he wins his 14th cap for New Zealand.

"It has been on my bucket list for wee while to play at Murrayfield, so it will be pretty cool," said the scrum-half the other day. "I’d say it will be a bit more special for the parents but I’m looking forward to it."

A certain Mr Russell just got the biggest shriek of approval from the Murrayfield crowd as the Scotland team was read out over the tannoy.

No pressure Finn. There is a full brass band and pipe band on the pitch as we prepare for the anthems and the atmosphere in this place cranks up.

  20. 'Two flat performances'published at 14:04 GMT 13 November 2022

    Scotland v New Zealand (14:15)

    Tom English
BBC Scotland's chief sports writer at Murrayfield

Scotland in the autumn so far. Attack pedestrian. Discipline poor. Ball carriers - not nearly enough of them. Very little happening in the midfield. Nothing from Stuart Hogg last time out. Two flat performances.

The intensity in training this week will have ratcheted upwards so expecting a lot more from them today. Just make a game of it.
