Edinburgh's fly-half has struggled at international level, but he shows all his quality here to race around Gonzalo Bertranou and find Rory Hutchinson with a lovely reverse pass.

The Northampton man dives over, and then Kinghorn adds the extras to level things up.

Scotland have won five of their last six games in Argentina, and are unbeaten against Los Pumas since the 2011 World Cup.

They will have to come from behind here if that record is to continue.

    HT: Argentina 18-6 Scotland

I've just seen a replay of Argentina's first try for the first time, and I'm 99.9% sure that Jeronimo de la Fuente didn't ground the ball.

Strange that it wasn't looked at.

All is forgiven, they've just shown another angle where he does ground the ball.

Not great from Scotland. No entries to the Argentina 22, and far too many errors - they've not got a foothold in the game.

The less said about that 40 minutes the better.

Still, things can only get better from a Scotland perspective.

Matt Fagerson gets over the ball at the breakdown and wins Scotland a vital penalty.

They just could not afford to concede again on the brink of half-time.

    Argentina 18-6 Scotland

Someone in navy blue needs to get a grip on this game, and sharpish.

A loose pass goes to no-one, and Argentina are camped in Scotland territory again.

    Santiago Carreras

Argentina go bang bang, and it's all a bit easy.

Juan Cruz Mallia gathers a clearance kick, and then scythes his way through the Scotland line.

Only a fantastic bit of scramble defence from Duhan van der Merwe stops the hosts scoring from that phase, but they get quick ball and Santiago Carreras dives over unopposed.

  14. try

    Jeronimo de la Fuente

The hosts force their way over from close range.

It looked like Ali Price had managed to hold Jeronimo de la Fuente up, but the home centre rolls over to score the game's first try.

Emiliano Boffelli drags the conversion well wide.

We're all hoping the fluency will come. This is Argentina's first Test for a long time. It's almost trying to iron out a few creases. For Scotland, the encouraging thing is that they are making ground from second phase onwards.

I can barely keep up with all these penalties.

  19. Missed penaltypublished at 24 mins

    Argentina 6-3 Scotland

Scotland are pinged once more by the referee - they need to reduce the penalty count big time.

They can breathe a sigh of relief though, as Emiliano Boffelli's first effort from the tee drifts wide of the right-hand post.
