Oh, Woosie, where did it all go wrong? It seems like only yesterday you were waving your fist in celebration at winning this tournament. A bogey on the par-four seventh for Ian Woosnam means he drops another shot. The former champ is +5 for the day, +8 overall, and will probably miss the cut if he continues in this fashion.

Friday's tee-times

Here comes Ernie! The big South African is no muppet - sinking his first birdie of day two on the par-five second. Els leathers a 300-yard drive into the middle of the fairway, arcs his second shot just short of the green, then chips within two foot of the pin. The putt drops and he moves to six under, two shy of overnight leader Jordan Spieth.

Bogey. Birdie. Bogey. It's all or nothing for Bradley Neil in the first three holes as they young Scot tries to tame this most beguiling of courses. The teenager is +1 for the day, +7 overall. Seeing as we're writing about a Scottish golfer we might as well mention Neil's playing partner, Sandy Lyle, who has come away from each of the opening three holes with a par.

Oh Woosie. The Welshman double bogeys the second par-three in a row, falling short of the green on the 180-yard sixth. Three putts mean he has to scrawl a five on to his card, just like he did on the 240-yard fourth.

The fourth, also known as the spectacularly-named Flowering Crab Apple, is the hardest hole on the course today. And Woosie isn't the only one to struggling to conquer it - we have seen three pars and two double bogeys so far.

Looks like the brollies may be needed at Augusta this afternoon. Those teeing off early will get the best of the weather with sunshine and highs of 30C. But Justin Rose and Rory McIlroy who are in some of the last groups of the day will have to contend with heavy showers forecast for 5pm. Georgian TV station WAGT, external are warning of a risk of thunderstorms from 4pm.

Fraser Dobbie in Aberdeen: Nobody should rule out a big move from Dubuisson today! I think he has the second best game after Mcilroy. He has the potential to shoot very low today if the conditions are right.

Jenni in Newtownards: Jordan Speith played Amen Corner yesterday as if he was playing it on a games console! On easy mode too! He has no fear in his youth.

Richard Lashbrook, Rutland: All over the world, this weekend, six or seven handicappers, with a variety of swings, having not played for a week, will peg up a driver on the first tee, take two practice swings and knock it down the middle. I fail to understand why Tiger Woods can not come up with some sort of method that will do the same.

Scottish teenager Bradley Neil had a mixed bag on his maiden Masters round (with four birdies and 10 bogeys in his 78) - and, on the evidence so far, day two looks to be equally eventful. After putting another blob on his scorecard on the first, the 19-year-old from Dundee claws a shot back with a birdie on the par-five second.

Neil, the amateur champion, is learning the Augusta ropes alongside that experienced campaigner Sandy Lyle, who adds a second successive par on day two.

These are the (admittedly, paraphrased) words of the Augusta announcer as the Big Easy clutches his driver and pegs up between the markers.

The 45-year-old South African, who is second after an opening 67, is the first man on the leaderboard to step out into the Augusta sunshine today.

Thwack! The big-hitter smashes his tee shot straight down the middle, just to the left of the cavernous fairway bunker. I've seen smaller beaches than that sand trap.

Bang Average: Justin Rose for me. Whenever he gets that slightly deranged look in this eye (see Medinah 2012 final day) you know he's in business.

Joe Ridge: I backed Jason Day for the masters - was a little disappointed at first but his back 9 was sublime. Great first day!

Andrew Priestley: Can't wait to see what insight Ken Brown has got for us this year. The speed of the greens amaze me every year

Ouch. A bogey for Scot Bradley Neil on Olive Tree, just like he did on the same hole yesterday, which means the teenage debutant is now +7 overall. A steady par for his compatriot Sandy Lyle on the first hole, though.

Ian Woosnam? Level par for the day but needs to hold a 19ft putt to come away from the fourth with a par. And he fails. First drop shot of the day for the Welshman.
