Aston Villa manager Carla Ward speaking in her pre-match press conference:

"Manchester United are there [top of the table] for a reason. They’ve shown a huge amount of resilience, quality. They’ve continued to score goals, they don’t concede many. They’ve got threats everywhere. They deserve an awful lot of credit.

"We have the same vision, goals and strategy. It’s really important that we’re sustainable in our approach. We’re building blocks year on year – it’s the same across the board.

"We’re expecting similar [attendance] numbers to the Chelsea game. The Bescot was bouncing, hopefully it’s the same [tomorrow]."

This is the third meeting between these two sides this season.

They met in the group stage of the League Cup with Villa winning on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

However, in the previous league meeting Manchester United claimed an emphatic 5-0 victory and would love for it to be as comfortable again this time.

Carla Ward makes one enforced change for Aston Villa tonight from the side which drew 3-3 against Tottenham last week.

Kirsty Hanson, Villa's WSL assist leader with eight this season, is ineligible as she is on loan from Manchester United.

Ruesha Littlejohn replaces Hanson in the Villa front three.

Manchester United meanwhile are unchanged from the side which started the win over Arsenal nine days ago.

Katie Zelem, Leah Galton, Alessia Russo and Ona Batlle, who all scored in the 5-0 win over Villa at Old Trafford earlier this season, all start.

The other scorer, Rachel Williams, is on the bench.

Three points tonight and Manchester United will move six points clear at the top of table, which would deal a psychological blow to their rivals.

Standing in their way are Aston Villa, who are looking to end a three-game winless run and strengthen their place in fifth in the WSL table.

Manchester United's title push continues this evening as they face Aston Villa looking to claim a sixth consecutive victory in all competitions.

Sitting three points ahead of Manchester City and four ahead of reigning champions Chelsea, United are in a pretty strong position.

But the Blues have two games in hand and, with just four games remaining for the Red Devils, they can ill afford to drop any points.
