    Coleraine 1-0 Newry City

    Coming up to half an hour gone at The Showgrounds, where it remains 1-0 to the home side.

    Coleraine have been the dominant team in the opening 30 minutes, but have failed to add to that 11th minute goal from leading marksman Matthew Shevlin.

    Newry City are finding it difficult to make inroads into a dogged Coleraine defence.

    Glentoran come close to scoring as Shay McCartan looked to have a tap in at the near post but for a vital touch behind by a Linfield defender.

    Poor game so far with neither side creating much in the opening 30 minutes.

    Jude Winchester outpaces everyone in the box and his strong strike looks goal-bound. However, stopper Rory Brown deflects the effort before Peter Campbell clears the dangerous rebound out of play.

    The resulting corner is then also denied by Brown, who has had a busy game so far.

    A strong run from Andy Scott forces anther corner which causes consternation in the Newry defence.

    Joe Gormley spots the former Larne striker free on the edge of the penalty area and Hale curls one into Ondrej Mastny's far corner.

    The keeper had no chance with that finish.

    Coleraine’s impressive start to this game is rewarded with a goal from, who else, but Matthew Shevlin.

    It was great work on the right wing from Andrew Scott, who skips past the defender before squaring for Shevlin, who taps home from six yards for his 21st league goal, and 26th goal in all competitions.

    It could be a long night for Newry City if Coleraine continue at this pace.

    Neat exchange of passes between a number of Coleraine players including Dean Jarvis and Lee Lynch ends with a Coleraine corner which comes to nothing.

    Bright start from the home side, with Newry City yet to get into the game.
