Fulham boss Marco Silva, speaking to Sky Sports about winning with just 35% possession against Brighton last-time out: "What happened last week wasn't out fault, we have to give credit to Brighton.

"We like to have the ball and to build our attacks but Brighton are taking the ball from most of the teams they play against.

"I said after the match it was not our best performance at all, but we had to adapt. In the right moment we punished them."

Fulham's top goalscorer Aleksandar Mitrovic has not featured for the club since 11 February because of a hamstring injury.

Mitrovic has scored 11 goals so far this season, but Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui does not believe his absence makes Fulham any less dangerous.

"We are not thinking about one player, they played in Brighton without Mitrovic and they won," he said.

"They have very good players, they are going to play with 11 good players. We prepare for the match in the same way and not thinking about one player."

Wolves won three of their four games prior to losing to Bournemouth last-time out but that defeat showed they are far from out of the relegation scrap just yet.

It leaves them three points above the drop, and boss Julen Lopetegui said: "When you win all is not perfect and when you lose all is not bad. The most important thing is to be ready for the next challenge.

"We are busy trying to improve the team in all the facets. We scored three against Liverpool, two against Southampton, maybe we can do better and we are going to try to work hard and improve all our team.

"Sometimes you start winning, sometimes you are losing. You have to have a good mentality. It's very important to be strong in your mind and overcome bad moments."

  8. 'Fulham in Europe? Why not!'published at 18:52 GMT 24 February 2023

    Fulham v Wolves (20:00 GMT)

Former Premier League defender Steve Brown says Fulham deserve the praise they are getting this season and he said there is no reason why they cannot qualify for European football.

He told BBC Radio London's Far Post podcast: "We’ve lauded them this season with a lot of praise and they deserve it. They have been outstanding. They have been really entertaining to watch and I just think Marco Silva will be thinking 'if we can get results out of that one then why not?'

"Just keep feeding the belief into the dressing room because the confidence is there, the morale is there, they will be enjoying their football and that is massive in the dressing room.

"A lot of big sides are struggling at the moment and that opens a door. Liverpool look like they have bounced back, but the door is certainly open this year for someone to step through who wouldn’t usually have the opportunity."

    Fulham v Wolves (20:00 GMT)

    Good evening!

Fulham and Wolves kick off this weekend's Premier League action, with both sides having very different aims for the remainder of this campaign.

The hosts are one of the surprise packages of the season, tipped for relegation at the start of the campaign they currently find themselves sixth and would move level on points with fifth-place Newcastle with a win tonight.

Wolves, meanwhile, themselves having enjoyed what Fulham are chasing not too long ago, are fighting towards the other end of the table, although the picture looks much brighter than it once did.

They were bottom of the table going into the World Cup break but have lifted themselves out of the relegation zone and a win for Julen Lopetegui's side will see them leap up to 13th, six points clear of trouble.

Plenty of reasons for both sides to go for the three points tonight then.

Thirteen years ago, Fulham came within a win of European glory as they reached the Europa League final, where they lost to Atletico Madrid.

One more European campaign followed before the next few years were spent yo-yoing between the Premier League and Championship.

However, not only are they not involved in a relegation battle this time, but they are fighting for European football once again.

Could oversees adventures be about to return for Fulham fans?
