    Celtic 2-1 Livingston

The players are back out on the pitch. Can Livingston produce a miraculous turnaround?

They've brought on Morgan Boyes for Ayo Obileye in defence.

Celtic will look to pick up the intensity again.

    Tom English
    BBC Scotland's chief sports writer

Where is the joy in this if you're Ange Postecoglou? For many weeks of your league season, it's a grim battle against 10 men behind the ball, it's the same challenge in a lot of weeks, too many weeks.

Here's a manager who wants his players to be challenged. It's a bit boring, isn't it?

It's absolutely incredible, to think that Celtic were 2-0 up going into half-time, 45 minutes gone on the clock. A ball played up, It was more strength than anything else, Nicky Devlin holding off Taylor and putting it past Joe Hart from seven or eight yards out. It's a wonderful moment for Livingston to get them back into this game

  8. HALF-TIME - Celtic 2-1 Livingstonpublished at 20:36 GMT 21 December 2022

A thoroughly dominant half from Celtic, who went ahead through Ayo Obileye's own goal.

Kyogo looked to have put the game beyond Livingston right on half-time, but a goal 90 seconds later from Nicky Devlin means we still have a game on our hands!

    Nicky Devlin

    Incredible!

Livingston win the battle in the middle of the park after the restart, and a simple ball through finds Devlin.

The Livi captain stays composed and squeezes it past Joe Hart on his 100th appearance for the club.

Out of nowhere Livi have a lifeline!

    Lethal. Just lethal.

Anthony Ralston plays in Liel Abada down the right with a superb pass, and the Israeli winger picks out Kyogo in the middle who smashes it home.

Livi are averaging less than one completed pass per minute so far.

With 40 minutes gone, just 37 passes have found their mark.

This touchmap shows you just how hard they are finding it to get up the park.

    Celtic 1-0 Livingston

    Allan Preston
Former Livingston manager on BBC Sportsound

If Livi can get to half-time 1-0 down, Davie Martindale will regroup. They have worked their socks off, as they always do. As long as it's 1-0, Livi will fancy getting something out the game.

Update...Joe Hart punches the corner clear, and cleans out Anthony Ralston.

The full-back is on the deck after that haymaker. But he shakes it off again.

We spoke about why Livingston go with three at the back. It's just numbers, getting numbers into areas where they can get a block because Celtic will cut you right open.

  17. Door unlockedpublished at 20:22 GMT 21 December 2022

    Celtic 1-0 Livingston

    Martin Dowden
BBC Sport Scotland at Celtic Park

It's been all Celtic and with that defensive door now unlocked, you sense they are keen to end this as a contest as quickly as possible.

One-way traffic doesn't do this spectacle justice. All of the action is in Livingston's half of the pitch.

I've only just noticed Joe Hart is wearing black which tells you something.

This is relentless. Livingston simply can't get on the ball or up the pitch.

  18. No penaltypublished at 35 mins

    Celtic 1-0 Livingston

A relatively swift decision. The replay appears to show the ball striking Devlin's arm, but it's sort of by his side.

I think they're being less punitive with handballs than they were before the break.

  19. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 35 mins

    Celtic 1-0 Livingston

Celtic are claiming for a penalty. Reo Hatate's shot was blocked by Nicky Devlin, and it certainly looked like it hit his arm.

    VAR check incoming.

Liel Abada took the credit from his teammates, but there's no chance he'll get awarded that goal.

Can't complain at an assist though.
