    Oh wow, this is close!

Jordan Henderson is allowed to turn after collecting a throw and takes aim for the far post with a volleyed shot. For a second it looks like it might creep in but then just drifts wide.

Pete, Keighley: Moyes' last game and no-one to blame but himself. Their decline can be traced back to his weakness over the Zouma incident.

Harry: How any manager can be saved from this is unreal.

    Anon: Goodbye, David Moyes.

Brentford look very dangerous on the break now, with West Ham understandably pushing more and more men forward.

The Hammers turn to Michail Antonio for salvation.

Didi Hamann can't resist. Jamie Carragher committed both of his blunders at Anfield in the first half when Liverpool lost 3-2 to Manchester United in September 1999.

    Back under way at Anfield.

    All eyes on Wout Faes.

Gianluca Scamacca is clearly a frustrated man. Off the ball, he drags and pulls at Mads Roerslev, sending the Bees man to the ground.

It's checked but there is no further action taken.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:04 GMT 30 December 2022

Two changes for the Bees. Vitaly Janelt and Yoane Wissa replace Bryan Mbuemo and Mathias Jensen.

    West Ham 0-2 Brentford

Jarrod Bowen draws a save from David Raya with a low shot, but there is anger from the West Ham man and his team-mates. He was clearly pulled back by Rico Henry and it halted his momentum.

Paul Bennett: I'm a Liverpool fan and it's my birthday today. Pretty sure that madness from Faes was my gift for the day!

Liam: I think Wout Faes is trying to chase Haaland down for the Golden Boot tonight!

Sahil: Could this be the first hat trick of own goals ever?! Comical!

Josh Dasilva does really well to carry the ball into West Ham territory before drawing a foul.

The free-kick is swung into the mixer but headed away by Gianluca Scamacca.

Tell you what, Brentford are doing well.

Rich: Moyes is just playing the long game. Once he and Lampard get fired he'll be favourite for the Everton job, and might need to finish above West Ham to stay up.

Josh: I hate to say it but Moyes has to go. This West Ham team needs some life injected into it. Gutted after what he's done for us.

Andy, Walton on Thames: Can we have more 'Aren't Brentford doing well' and less "aren't West Ham rubbish", please? Not given credit as much as they deserve.

Well, West Ham have come out swinging at least.

Jarrod Bowen is trying to drive them on.

Her wins a free-kick that Aaron Cresswell hits... but a yard or two over the bar.

It won't be much consolation to tonight's figure of fun, but three players have had a double disaster of this kind before in the Premier League.

I keep picturing Wout Faes' face as the Nunez shot comes back off the post and hits him. He knew. It was a look of utter resignation. We've all been there when you know you've dropped one and you can't avoid the horror.

Like dropping a glass and watching in slow motion as it falls to the floor to obliterate in front of you.

'Nothing short of comical'published at 20:52 GMT 30 December 2022

    Liverpool 2-1 Leicester

    Paul Robinson
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

The two own goals we've seen here tonight are nothing short of comical.

Nunez lifts the ball over Ward. Wout Faes is running back, the ball comes off the post and he's two yards out.

There's nothing he can do but put it in the top corner. I don't know what Wout Faes is doing.

Liverpool have had one ruled out because it was offside and two own goals. Leicester have been excellent.

  19. Postpublished at 20:52 GMT 30 December 2022

Free-kick? Penalty? It's definitely a foul on Jarrod Bowen by Ben Mee. It's so close to the box... but just outside on the right side.

StickyToffee-Lewin: Was Faes the only person on the planet who didn't hear Danny Ward shout "keeper's"?! Jeez.

Joseph: What a beautiful own goal for the first!
