Good work from Aston Villa. Ezri Konsa plays a lovely pass into the channel and it finds the overlapping Matty Cash, who has got the wrong side of his marker. Cash's pullback is into a dangerous area, but Remo Freuler sensed the danger and slid in to send the ball behind for a corner.

That came to nothing and just as Forest were looking to counter, Konsa brings down Morgan Gibbs-White and sees yellow.

Aston Villa get a free-kick to the left side of the penalty area and Douglas Luiz, despite facing an incredibly tight angle, goes for goal.

But it doesn't make it that far as the Forest wall, not for the first time tonight, does its job and blocks the strike.

Only Peter Schmeichel (37 years, 336 days) has scored a Premier League goal for Aston Villa at an older age than Ashley Young (37years, 93 days).

Goalkeeper Schmeichel scored for Villa against Everton in a 3-2 defeat back in October 2001.

A bustling run from Oliie Watkins down the right flank but Forest's Harry Toffolo does well to keep pace with him before getting his foot in to win the ball.

Barry: Forest need to focus less on individual players and more on the overall picture. I'm sure there is an expression in the somewhere but just can't see it at the moment.

One shot on target each. One goal each.

For a brief second, Aston Villa think they have taken the lead. Ollie Watkins turns the ball into the net from Philippe Coutinho's cross from the left, but Watkins had moved too soon and is offside. No need for lines to be drawn on screens, a clear offside.

Chris: Tyrone Mings at fault for the Forest goal. The man is a disaster at the back!

Jon: Ashley Young is a different quality to the rest of the team, even at 37.

RP Yates: It's a clear foul on Yates. Anywhere else on the pitch then give that. Seriously needs looking at. They are so so poor. Its actually embarrassing. Steps across his man and stands on his leg after. I genuinely can't understand it.

Jon Evans: That wasn't really a free kick, Mings took the ball. But the set piece defending was poor. Nothing new there. I'm unconvinced the team train. Usually just see videos of them taking shots from the edge of the box.

Serge Aurier of Forest becomes the first man in the book today, sliding through the back of Jacob Ramsey. VAR has a quick look to see if it should be upgraded to red, but yellow will do.

Forest's Brennan Johnson, cutting in on to his left foot from the right wing, tries to produce some magic but it is top defending from Ezri Konsa as he intercepts the cross while under pressure inside his own penalty area.

Forest have clearly been told to watch out for Emiliano Buendia. He's fouled again, this time by Serge Aurier on his full Forest debut. That gives Philippe Coutinho an inviting free-kick 30 yards out, but the Brazilian can't get the ball over a jumping wall.

J Staggs: Forest need to be attacking those wide channels against this Villa side who play very narrow.

Villa's John McGinn looks to provide some early quality and his excellent pass finds ex-Forest man Matty Cash on the edge of the penalty area. He lays it off for Emiliano Buendia, but his cross is a poor one and easily cleared by Scott McKenna.

Not much to go at yet.

Jon Evans: That has to be a yellow for Toffolo. No idea why the time in the match changes that. Terrible tackle. If someone does similar in a few minutes they'll be booked.

Can't argue with Jon on that one.

Emiliano Buendia now needs some treatment after being clattered in the ribs by Remo Freuler.

The Forest man had his eyes on the ball though so no referee action is needed and Buendia is able to carry on.

Some good footwork from Morgan Gibbs-White for the hosts, but he runs into trouble 35 yards out as a combination of Douglas Luiz and Matty Cash clear it for Villa.

Forest's Harry Toffolo slides in and catches Emiliano Buendia, it's late and the home man is a bit lucky to not get an early yellow.
