  1. What a chancepublished at 50 mins

    Arsenal 1-0 Coventry United

That should have been game over.

Frida Maanum's pinpoint cross finds Jordan Nobbs unmarked but the England midfielder blazes over on the turn. Had more time than she realised.

  2. Postpublished at 47 mins

    Arsenal 1-0 Coventry United

Katie McCabe lets fly from 30 yards out.

For a second it looks like it's flying into the top corner but it keeps rising and goes harmlessly over.

    Arsenal get us under way.

Second goal key here. Arsenal get it, game over. If not...

  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 19:50 GMT 18 March 2022

    Arsenal 1-0 Coventry United

Sweden striker Stina Blackstenius' goal has put the favourites in front at the break.

It's a fair reflection on the balance of play with Arsenal dominant against their Championship visitors.

Can the underdogs find a route back into the game in the second half?

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 45+2 mins

    Arsenal 1-0 Coventry United

What a move, and what a save.

Arsenal work the ball beautifully down the left as Tobin Heath and Kim Little combine to tee up Jordan Nobbs - but her shot with the outside of the foot from 18 yards is superbly pushed aside by Coventry keeper Lucy Thomas.

  9. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Arsenal 1-0 Coventry United

Coventry twice want free-kicks in the Arsenal half for challenges on Liv Fergusson and Katie Wilkinson but nothing doing.

  10. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Arsenal 1-0 Coventry United

What a chance for the Gunners to make it two.

Nikita Parris, probably the pick of the Arsenal attacking players thus far, cuts a ball back for Kim Little.

But the Scotland international smashes over the angle of bar and post.

  11. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Arsenal 1-0 Coventry United

Big few minutes before half-time now. Coventry cannot afford to concede a second.

Arsenal are pushing. Tobin Heath just saw a goalbound effort blocked.

  12. CLOSE!published at 40 mins

    Arsenal 1-0 Coventry United

    Great response from Coventry.

The underdogs earn a free-kick out wide and Charlie Estcourt's delivery is glanced just wide by Grace Riglar.

    Breakthrough.

    Coventry's resistance is broken.

It's a wonderful cross from Nikita Parris but it takes a nick off the head of Coventry defender Grace Riglar to float perfectly for Stina Blackstenius to glance a header inside the far post.

  14. Postpublished at 36 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Coventry United

Arsenal stepping things up here, nice link-up between Tobin Heath and Katie McCabe down the left.

Coventry clear for a throw but Jordan Nobbs puts in a lovely cross that Heath meets with a header - it's straight at United keeper Lucy Thomas though.

  15. Postpublished at 33 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Coventry United

For all their possession, Arsenal have still only registered one effort on target, Jordan Nobbs' early shot that was cleared off the line by Elisha N'Dow.

  16. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Coventry United

Gunners captain Kim Little is doing her best to drive Arsenal forward but you do wonder if the nine changes the hosts have made are not helping them.

They are not flowing yet and Coventry are keeping them at arm's length fairly comfortably.

  17. Postpublished at 28 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Coventry United

Very sporting from Coventry, as on a rare attack from the visitors, Arsenal defender Jen Beattie goes down injured as United kick the ball out.

    She's okay to continue though.

  18. Postpublished at 25 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Coventry United

Don't think Elisha N'Dow planned that.

The Coventry defender - on loan from Aston Villa - heads Tobin Heath's set-piece towards her own goal but fortunately for her it's straight at United keeper Lucy Thomas.

  19. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Coventry United

Arsenal have apparently enjoyed 75% possession so far - and I'm amazed that figure is that low.

Nikita Parris draws a foul from Coventry's Wales midfielder Charlie Estcourt - United's only full international.

Parris is down and receiving treatment to her ankle.

Arsenal free-kick around 35 yards out.

  20. Postpublished at 22 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Coventry United

What a lovely ball from Nikita Parris.

It finds Stina Blackstenius in the right channel and her ball across the box is parried by Coventry keeper Lucy Thomas as defender Eliha N'Dow completes the clearance.

Danger averted for the visitors but the threat was there.
