Brilliant start by the visitors, but what a shocker for Birmingham City.

That goal came after just two minutes!

Arsenal are on the charge straight from kick-off and young keeper Rhiannon Stewart - who is making her first WSL appearance - gets down well to keep out in-form Vivianne Miedema inside the opening minute. That will help settle Stewart's nerves.

  10. Postpublished at 13:58 BST 12 September 2021

    Chelsea 2-0 Everton

Pernille Harder will ask herself how she hasn't scored today.

Just in the past few minutes alone she has had two big chances she really should have buried.

Will Vivianne Miedema continue her hot scoring streak?

The Netherlands forward scored her 100th goal for Arsenal on Thursday as they booked their place in the group stage of the Champions League with a 4-0 victory over Slavia Prague.

Miedema, who has been with the Gunners since 2017, is the fastest Arsenal player in history to reach that incredible milestone, doing so in just 110 appearances.

The 25-year-old also scored in the 3-2 win over defending WSL champions Chelsea last week.

Reading's defenders might just be in for a busy afternoon.

  12. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 13:54 BST 12 September 2021

    Chelsea 2-0 Everton

Fran Kirby with a neat lofted cross into the box.

Sam Kerr makes a mess of a chance in the middle of a crowded area, and the ball breaks kindly for Perinelle Harder.

The Dane, however, crashes her effort against the post.

  13. Postpublished at 13:52 BST 12 September 2021

    Chelsea 2-0 Everton

Chelsea are giving Everton no respite at all.

Guro Reiten runs the ball deep and cuts it back across goal with real power. It gets under Sandy MacIver, but there is no-one there for Chelsea to finish it off.

  14. Team news - Purfield debut, Groenen startspublished at 13:49 BST 12 September 2021

Leicester v Man Utd (14:00 BST)

There are four changes to the Leicester City side as Ashleigh Plumtree comes in as captain.

There's a debut for full-back Jemma Purfield, while striker Jess Sigsworth lines up against her former club.

Subs: Lambourne, McManus, De Graaf, Smith, Camwell, Devlin, Brown, Powell, Brooks.

Marc Skinner continues with Ella Toone up front for Man Utd, with new signing Martha Thomas on the bench.

Big change. Toni Duggan comes off the bench to replace Aurora Galli.

  16. Postpublished at 13:47 BST 12 September 2021

    Chelsea 2-0 Everton

Chelsea force a corner and it causes all sorts of panic in Everton's defence.

The ball falls to Fran Kirby at the back post, but Sandy MacIver does enough to deny the England forward.

  17. Postpublished at 13:45 BST 12 September 2021

    Chelsea 2-0 Everton

Everton looking a little more composed now after the costly second goal.

A lovely ball is floated in from the right, but Izzy Christiansen is beaten to the ball. Well defended by Chelsea.

  18. Late keeper blow for Readingpublished at 13:43 BST 12 September 2021

    Reading v Arsenal (14:00 BST)

    Big blow for Reading.

Since boss Kelly Chambers named an unchanged XI at 13:00 BST, experienced keeper Grace Moloney has been replaced.

Rhiannon Stewart will take over instead.

Summer signings Deanne Rose - who helped Canada to Olympic gold in Japan last month - starts on the bench along with another summer signing Justine Vanhaevermaet.

Belgium forward Vanhaevermaet is in her first season in England having played in Belgium, Germany and Norway.

Reading XI: Stewart, Bryson, Cooper, Evans, Woodham, Rowe, Peplow, Chaplen, Harding, Harries, Eikeland.

Arsenal are playing their third game in a week.

It's no surprise Vivianne Miedema starts after her hat-trick in the Champions League qualifier against Slavia Prague on Thursday.

There is one change to the side that started the win over defending champions Chelsea last week as Australia defender Steph Catley comes in for Mana Iwabuchi.

Arsenal XI: Zinsberger, Catley, Williamson, Beattie, Maritz, Walti, Little, Maanum, Mead, Miedema, McCabe.

Substitutes: Wubben-Moy, Patten, Parris, Williams, Iwabuchi, Goldie, Hennessy, Houssein.
