Sho: This has been a battering so far. Wolves playing some great stuff. Everton woeful.

Kyle Utterson: Great start for Wolves. No more than they deserve. They have been so dominant so far. If Everton fans want Rafa Benitez out. We at Newcastle would be delighted if he came back.

Everton have been insipid. They just have not got going. What is it going to take for them to spark into life and compete? I would have expected a much better repsonse, a bit of effort. They are so passive.

    Wolves 1-0 Everton

Wolves come forward again through Hwang Hee-chan, who tries to slip the ball through to Trincao but doesn't get the pass quite right and it runs through to Jordan Pickford.

    Max Kilman

    This one definitely counts!

Max Kilman gets his first goal for the club with a header from a corner.

Moments before, Seamus Coleman was visibly fuming with his team-mates for giving away the corner. This hasn't been great from Everton.

    Wolves 0-0 Everton

Better from Everton as Alex Iwobi and Richarlison play a neat one-two on the left, the latter playing a cute ball that sends Iwobi into the box. The forward tries to pick out Demarai Gray but the height is awkward and it bounces off the Everton man and behind for a goal kick.

That's Everton's first touch in the Wolves area.

    Wolves 0-0 Everton

Everton are trying to pack the middle and give Wolves few options but the home side are then just playing the ball out wide left to right and back again to pull the visitors out of shape.

Wolves are happy to be patient and wait for those crucial spaces to appear.

Everton fans watching the first 20 minutes of this game looking for a response from their team after the Watford performance will be so, so disappointed.

    Wolves 0-0 Everton

Rafael Benitez will not be seeing the reaction he would have wanted after that 5-2 loss to Watford. Everton are very much second best here.

    Wolves 0-0 Everton

Mason Holgate pulls back Trincao, who has had a very lively start to the game, and the Everton defender can probably consider himself fortunate that he escapes a booking.

Rúben Neves then bends the free kick over Jordan Pickford's goal.

    That is clearly offside.

I can see it because I have a TV monitor in front of me but the big screen, which is playing the match live, puts an advert up when the VAR check is happening so the fans don't see it.

Not that they would have been impressed anyway.

It is not stopping Wolves though and a lovely, sweeping move ends with Trincao hitting a low, first-time shot that deflects off Michael Keane. The home fans want a penalty but it looks like it came off his chest.

Everton are up against it at the moment.

And VAR rules out the goal. Hwang Hee-chan was just offside when he got the ball.

But now Jordan Pickford is beaten!

Raul Jimenez drives through the middle, no Everton player can stop him before he flicks the ball through to Hwang Hee-chan, who turns and squeezes a shot in.

But wait... he may have been just offside...

    Jordan Pickford again!

This time the Everton goalkeeper reacts superbly to palm away a fierce Trincão dipping strike.

Pickford must have been watching Aaron Ramsdale's performances at the weekend and doesn't want to be outdone.

What a save from Pickford from that Neves shot! Coady should have scored there as well but somehow Everton scramble it clear.

Gareth Southgate is here this evening...

  19. GREAT SAVE!published at 9 mins

Good spell for Wolves at the moment as Hwang Hee-chan, by the corner flag, manages to flick the ball through to Rayan Ait Nouri, whose cross is deflected behind for a corner.

From the delivery, the ball is headed to Rúben Neves on the edge of the box and his first time shot is pushed away superbly by Jordan Pickford.

    Great save!
