Wolves have shown a lot of attacking intent. Trincao has been effective, they've controlled the midfield. It's been a perfect first half from their point of view and it's been wave after wave of attack.
Everton are setting up to be compact in midfield but it's just not working. It's as basic from them as they haven't been willing enough. They don't look interested. If you're an Everton fan you'd be furious. They have been pathetic.

Wolves could be clear and comfortable in this game by now.
But a couple of wasted chances by Demarai Gray and Mason Holgate were just a reminder this is not done.
Wolves need to tighten up a bit.

If you’re an Everton fan watching this you’re thinking the players aren’t trying. They are miles off it.
Wolves 2-0 Everton
Five minutes to go until the break and Everton will be glad of the whistle after a terrible first 45 minutes.
The Toffees do have a lot of injuries at the moment but even so you'd expect the XI out there to have done better than they have so far. The visitors have barely been in it.

Wolves 2-0 Everton
Big, big let off for Wolves as a wild swing of the boot by Romain Saïss sends the ball the wrong way and Demarai Gray is in on goal but then sweeps his shot wide of the far post.
Had to do better there, it was a gift.

Andy: 2-0. This is absolutely dire. What’s going on? Being completely outplayed, and making so many mistakes.
George Powell: Capitulated against Watford, on for a hiding tonight against Wolves, Tottenham next with their “new manager bounce” and then an international break where what’s left of the squad will get injured. Oh the joys of being a Blue.

Bruno Lage was talking about how he used to watch managers like Rafael Benitez on TV a decade ago and now he can't quite believe he is pitting his wits against him.
At the moment, it is the Portuguese coach who is winning the tactical battle by far. This could get a lot worse for Everton.

Everton were walloped by Watford and it looks like they're going to be walloped by Wolves.
I don't understand how Everton are trying to get up the pitch, what their patterns of play are.

It gets worse for Everton!
A big goal and a big moment for Raul Jimenez as he is onto an awful backpass by Ben Godfrey and calmly lobs the onrushing Jordan Pickford.
Wolves wonderful. Everton woeful.

Everton are jogging up to the ball, there is no intensity. Wolves are winning this at a canter at the moment.

Max Kilman's journey to the Premier League was unconventional.
He won 25 caps for England as a futsal player between 2015 and 2018.
He joined Wolves from non-league Maidenhead, from where he was once loaned to Marlow.
A fantastic story.

Everton just can't clear the ball or keep hold of it for more than a few seconds and Wolves come forward again. This time Rayan Ait Nouri whips a cross in from the left but it is cleared to provide the visiting defence with some temporary respite.
