    Off the line!

Stuart Dallas sends Daniel James away and he is round Tim Krul in a flash. His shot is on target but Grant Hanley gets back to slide and clear the ball before it can find the net. Brilliant work.

    Norwich 0-0 Leeds

    Almost!

Leeds break through Raphinha and he tries to work a one-two with Jack Harrison in the box but Ozan Kabak is able to stretch out a leg to prevent it. Raphinha swings his boot, catches the defender and conceded a free-kick.

Kalvin Phillips' first action in the game is to press and dump Mathias Normann on the floor. Letting him know he's there.

Josh Sargent goes down as Norwich look to break again. No foul says Anthony Taylor, represented through the medium of a 'get up' hand wave.

    Norwich 0-0 Leeds

There was a shout for a penalty against Daniel James in the breakdown of that corner. The ball did bounce up and hit his arm. The referee clearly feels there wasn't enough in it though.

We have to call this a relegation six-pointer. Both sides are desperate for the points.

It's a decent ball in to the mixer but Ozan Kabak can't get his head to it and Leeds are able to clear.

    Norwich 0-0 Leeds

Andrew Omabamidele is fouled by Raphinha as Leeds look to get their pressing game going early on. Norwich then get down the other end and force the first corner...

  9. Postpublished at 1 min

    Norwich 0-0 Leeds

Feels like the first goal is a big one in this game. Norwich could really do with getting something on the board to lift everyone around here. If Leeds get their noses in front, it could be a hammer blow to home morale.

  10. KICK-OFFpublished at 14:00 GMT 31 October 2021

    Norwich 0-0 Leeds

After Remembrance Day markings from Norwich (this being their last home game before 11 November), which are immaculately observed, and a taking of the knee from both sides, the game gets under way.

It would be a stretch to say this was a true rivalry, but these two have had a bit of healthy competition since the mid-90s, both on and off the pitch.

They were rivals for the League One title in 2009-10, with Norwich eventually winning it and Leeds coming second. Both were promoted, so no harm done.

Norwich's rise after that came somewhat at Leeds' expense, with the Canaries taking quite a lot of United's talent off them. This included Jonny Howson, Bradley Johnson, Robert Snodgrass and Luciano Becchio.

They were rivals again on the pitch in Marcelo Bielsa's first season at Leeds, with Norwich again winning a league title ahead of the Whites, this time in the Championship. Leeds would then go on to lose in the play-offs before going up the follow season.

This is the first time Norwich City and Leeds United have met in the Premier League since 1994-95. The home team triumphed 2-1 in both fixtures that season.

Mark Robins and Neil Adams (a 90th-minute winner) scored the Canaries goals in the win at Carrow Road, with Rod Wallace netting for Leeds.

At Elland Road, Gary McAllister and Carlton Palmer (another 90th-minute winner) were on the scoresheet for the home side. Ashley Ward scored for Norwich.

Leeds finished fifth that season. Norwich ended up rock bottom, with the result at Elland Road the one sending them down.

    Norwich v Leeds (14:00 GMT)

Mind you, things are only marginally brighter for Leeds right now. An injury-hit, inconsistent opening to the season has left them languishing near the bottom - something they were able to more or less completely avoid last season in their return to the top flight.

    • Seven points from nine games marks Leeds' worst start to a top-flight campaign since 1981.
    • Their only Premier League win this season came at home against promoted Watford on 2 October.
    • Leeds can remain winless in each of their opening five away fixtures of a league season for the first time since 1998 in the Premier League.
    • They have scored just eight goals in their nine league matches this campaign.

So they'll definitely win today then, right? That's how football works.

    Norwich v Leeds (14:00 GMT)

The stats are so overwhelmingly negative and plentiful, I'm just going to rattle through them here...

    • Norwich's return of two goals equals the English league record for fewest goals after nine fixtures.
    • Their goal difference of -21 is the joint worst at this stage of a Premier League campaign, level with Sheffield Wednesday in 1999-00.
    • The Canaries have conceded 23 league goals. They have only once before let in more after nine games, conceding 27 in 1946.
    • Norwich have equalled the club top-flight record of nine successive winless home matches, last set in 2004.
    • Norwich did not take the lead in any of their previous 13 Premier League fixtures.
    • Daniel Farke has the lowest points-per-game ratio (0.49), win ratio (10.6%) and goals-per-game ratio (0.60) of any Premier League manager to have taken charge for more than one season.

So they'll definitely win today then, right? That's how football works.

  16. 'Norwich comfortable with who they are'published at 13:50 GMT 31 October 2021

Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Norwich seem to have a very sustainable model. They have said they have spent £50m - I think they are one of only two of three clubs that have made money in the last year or so. They come up, they give young players a chance, they potentially sell them on for a profit, they have a really good season in the Championship.

They probably want to kick-on more than they have in the Premier League, but if they don't they go down and go through the whole process again.

I think they are quite comfortable with who they are.

    Norwich v Leeds (14:00 GMT)

    Alan Hutton
Former Scotland defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

The table doesn't lie. We are nearly at Christmas! How much time do you need? Norwich need to hit the ground running, they need to come up with something soon. They could be out of sight before you know it, and then they are back in the Championship. We need to start seeing it.

  18. 'We need to be nitty-gritty'published at 13:49 GMT 31 October 2021

    Norwich v Leeds (14:00 GMT)

Norwich keeper Tim Krul, speaking to Sky Sports: "We need to get over the line and it doesn't matter how we do it. We know we are capable of playing amazing football but we need a bit more nitty-gritty and to show some proper fight on the pitch.

"We're coming up against some teams who are around us and we're looking to get some points.

"It's always a feisty game against Leeds. We're up for the battle and we need to be."

"They deserve better than that but it wasn't through lack of work or lack of effort," said Webber.

"Saturday was disgraceful to be honest and embarrassing for our 1,500 supporters, who made that trek early in the morning.

"When you lose 7-0 everyone says 'they didn't try', it is an easy thing to say but it is not true and we have to turn it around. We can't go into games writing them off as 'oh, we've got no chance in that game'.

"We've not come to this league to be tourists and swapping shirts with other players, we're here to show we can stay in this league and compete in this league," Webber added.

"It always annoys me in football that everyone always goes for one person. When we were successful last year, we were not successful just because of Daniel [Farke], we were successful because we have 300 staff working hard, we have fantastic players and we were successful.

"We are being unsuccessful now. That means we have 300 staff that need to do more and players that need to do more. For anyone to say we don't deserve to be at this level is wrong.

"For people to say that we've given up and that we've accepted relegation already, I can't accept that. Everyone at this club works too hard to accept that. It hurts and I'd heard enough and said that I felt I wanted to come out and say something.

"I don't believe in being bullied and sitting in the corner when people throw punches and insults at us. It's time to fight back."
