  2. Goal drought a worry for Donspublished at 19:17 GMT 11 February 2020

    Hamilton Academical v Aberdeen (19:45)

What's gone wrong at Aberdeen, then? They have scored just one goal in 2020, a late penalty to squeeze past Dumbarton in the Scottish Cup. Since then, there have been five successive blanks.

The goals against column for the year is only two, so the problem appears to be limited to the final third of the pitch.

Dropping 21-goal Sam Cosgrove looks like a bold move.

"This is a tough period for us, I get that, but we need to back ourselves and trust ourselves and the answers are in the building to get the job done," said manager Derek McInnes at yesterday's media conference.

  3. Aberdeen aim for three in a row against Acciespublished at 19:14 GMT 11 February 2020

    Hamilton Academical v Aberdeen (19:45)

The Dons have edged both previous meetings this season, with Lewis Ferguson blazing in a shot from a well-worked free kick against his former team at the end of October, while Sam Cosgrove got the only goal at Pittodrie in mid-December.

The visitors would take another 1-0 right now after a run of five games without a victory.

  4. A dark and stormy night...published at 19:10 GMT 11 February 2020

    Hamilton Academical v Aberdeen (19:45)

It's not an evening for the faint-hearted as the rain tumbles down.

Waterproofs, gloves and extra socks required for fans, sleeves rolled up and get stuck in attitude for the players.

We think the heavily wrapped up member of the Accies backroom team is Dougie Imrie.

  5. Aberdeen leave Cosgrove on the benchpublished at 19:06 GMT 11 February 2020

    Hamilton Academical v Aberdeen (19:45)

The headline news from the Aberdeen line up is top scorer Sam Cosgrove's place among the substitutes.

Curtis Main leads the attack in what looks a bit like a 3-3-3-1 formation.

Right-back Shay Logan also drops out, along with Dean Campbell, with Dylan McGeouch and Connor McLennan drafted in.

  6. Five changes for Hamiltonpublished at 19:05 GMT 11 February 2020

    Hamilton Academical v Aberdeen (19:45)

Accies make five changes from Saturday's Scottish Cup loss to Rangers, with Johnny Hunt, Scott Martin, Blair Alston, David Templeton and Marios Ogkmpoe coming in.

Will Collar, Lewis Smith, Steve Davies and Andy Winter drop to the bench, with no place in the squad for Jamie Hamilton.

  8. Always look on the bright side...published at 19:00 GMT 11 February 2020

    Hamilton Academical v Aberdeen (19:45)

There's been a lot of doom and gloom around Aberdeen of late, but the visitors can go third in the Premiership with a win this evening.

Hamilton Accies fans are probably impervious to mid-season misery given their regular battles against relegation. Victory would open a handy four-point gap on bottom club Hearts.

Neither side has won a league match in 2020, so confidence may be an issue on a cold, wet night, but both camps must see this as a great opportunity to stop the rot and push on to better things.
