Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to BT Sport: "Manchester United feels like ages ago.

"So much has happened in between! Here we are against probably, performance-wise they were really good. The last game was difficult but we won it. We know we have to put a proper shift in.

"We have a plan but you you'll to watch the game to see it - It’s more complex!

"It shouldn’t be too complicated. They have their own plan in possession, it’s just different, a lot of diagonal balls. Also Adama Traore, in one-on-one situations, is really good, so we respect that.

"We play systems like them so we know what to do and we have to adapt and that's what we always do."

This is a Wolves side that troubles the best and Liverpool are currently the best.

  10. 'Liverpool are Liverpool'published at 19:31 GMT 23 January 2020

    Wolves v Liverpool (20:00 GMT)

    Steve Wilson
    Match of the Day commentator

The two busiest top-flight teams in England meet at Molineux in what should be a really enjoyable encounter. This will be Wolves' 40th match of the season and Liverpool's 37th.

It's easy to forget that, amid the summer toil of the Europa League qualifying rounds, Wolves took only four points from their first six league games of the season.

They have been superb ever since, and could well bridge the five-point gap currently separating them from fourth place. Make no mistake, Liverpool's 13-match winning run in the Premier League will be sorely tested.

But Liverpool are Liverpool - and they generally find a way.

  11. 'Wolves are difficult to play'published at 19:29 GMT 23 January 2020

    Wolves v Liverpool (20:00 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: "Wolves are not only this year, but last year, really difficult to play.

"They play a similar system to other teams. It depends a little bit how they set up - three or five at the back. But they do it differently, Coady has a different role, they make the pitch really big and ask you for a lot of footwork. You have to run a lot.

"That's normal and good, it's their way to play. For us, there are solutions for that but not without working a lot. You cannot play on a 50 or 60 per cent basis against Wolves, then you have absolutely no chance. That's the challenge for that game."

  14. 'We need to start better'published at 19:25 GMT 23 January 2020

    Wolves v Liverpool (20:00 GMT)

    Wolves

Wolves captain Conor Coady on leaving it late: "We don’t want to keep coming from behind. We need to start better as a team. We’re giving cheap goals away too easily and it’s something we need to look at and address.

"We don’t want to be giving ourselves mountains to climb like we did on Saturday, but it was fantastic character from the team to come back the way we did.

"We didn’t do what the manager said before the game, we need to make sure we’re listening and taking his ideas into the game.

"First-half, we were too far away from each other, we were a little bit passive which was disappointing, but we can take the positives from the game - we’ve won the game, a Premier League game at a tough place to come."

    Some transfer news...

Wolves are hoping to agree a fee for Olympiakos winger Daniel Podence, who is valued at more than £20m.

Nuno Espirito Santo is targeting the 24-year-old as he looks to bolster a squad that has played 39 competitive games this season.

Podence has been capped by Portugal at all age levels bar the senior team.

He joined Olympiakos from Sporting Lisbon on a five-year-deal in 2018 after he terminated his contract with the Portuguese club.

So far there has been no agreement over a fee.

  19. When could Liverpool win the title?published at 19:16 GMT 23 January 2020

    Wolves v Liverpool (20:00 GMT)

Tom Mallows has cruched the numbers to work out when and where Liverpool could with the Premier League title.

Goodison Park? Etihad Stadium? Or away at Watford, as early as 29 February?

Whatever happens, Liverpool know that 10 wins from their remaining 16 games will be enough to be crowned champions.

    Image caption,

Kevin Keegan's Newcastle team led the table by 12 points at the start of 1996, but finished the campaign four points behind Manchester United in second. That remains the biggest lead a side has had in the Premier League without going on to win the title.

  20. Leaving it latepublished at 19:13 GMT 23 January 2020

    Wolves v Liverpool (20:00 GMT)

Liverpool may be steamrolling to the title but Wolves just keep chipping away and are fighting for a spot among European royalty.

They came from 2-0 down to beat an in-form Southampton team in their last match - largely thanks to two goals from Raul Jimenez.

Pedro Neto was brilliant again and Adama Traore was once again involved in the goals.

Wolves love a good comeback story too - they have scored 68% of their goals after half-time, since the start of last season, the highest proportion of any current top-flight side.

So even if Liverpool take the lead early, they need to remain switched on!
