Ruben Neves loses possession to Sadio Mane in the middle but the Wolves man is caught in the process.

Referee Michael Oliver won't stop the game but Roberto Firmino puts the ball out of play, to warm applause from the home fans who appreciate the gesture.

Neves is receiving treatment and there's a few of his teammates huddling around looking a little concerned.

I can see a problem at the back for Wolves. Willy Boly [on the bench after returning from injury] would be a big plus because Romain Saiss and Leander Dendoncker aren't centre-halves. They're doing a job but it's a big problem.

Paul Michaels: So much more nervous for this game than I was for Man U (how bizarre), another Pool goal before half time would be most welcome!

Gurpreet B: To put the title race in perspective, Liverpool have 15 games left after today. For City to catch them, LFC have to lose 5 and draw 2 of those 15 while City have to win out. Not gonna happen.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain plays a lovely ball over to Sadio Mane, whose first touch is pretty good too.

A second later and Mane would have been through but Leander Dendoncker recovers well to get a toe on the ball and push it away.

Moments later, Roberto Firmino tries to get on the end of a throughball but it runs out for a goal kick.

Adama Traore does brilliantly to turn, swivel and shove off pressure from Georginio Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson and Roberto Firmino in midfield.

He then plays a terrible pass to the left which goes out for a throw-in.

Even Traore laughs.

Straight up the other end, the ball comes into the box from the left by Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah is unmarked.

He takes a touch instead of hitting it first time and Romain Saiss makes the block. Solid defending.

There's a scramble in the box as Pedro Neto tries to poke it towards the Liverpool goal. Joe Gomez gets an important touch on it, and another while he's lying on the ground, before Virgil van Dijk comes crunching in just in time.

There's a few faint appeals for a penalty but on first viewing it didn't look like much.

Georginio Wijnaldum beats Jonny for pace down the right but his curling cross is way too long. Sadio Mane can't reach it.

Wolves fans are still turning up the volume despite that early setback and they have had one or two moments to give them encouragement.

Liverpool, however, have that lead and have not been giving anything away lately.

Virgil van Dijk swings a boot at the curling free-kick and it goes up in the air. Alisson comes to grab it but completely misses it!

He gets a second chance and this time, brings it in safely.

A quick launch up-field is searching for Mohamed Salah but his first touch is read by Jonny.

Adama Traore whips a cross in from the left. Virgil van Dijk hooks it away.

Roberto Firmino then shoulder-barges Pedro Neto and Wolves have a free-kick in Liverpool's half.

They have caused a few problems with set-pieces so far...

Al Mumun Russell: Huge responsibility of leading the side to league victory on Henderson's shoulder. And his shoulder delivering right!

John Davies: Henderson is under rated and doesn't get enough recognition debate, has been going on for a very long time, so when does it stop being that debate?

Matt Doherty even turned around to check the offside flag hadn't gone up. Think he wished it had!

Adama Traore does so well to get away from Trent Alexander-Arnold on the left and hits it back off the defender to win a corner.

Joao Moutinho plays it short to Ruben Neves, who curls one in towards the back post. Matt Doherty is completely unmarked - like a ghost - but he heads wide of the far post!
