    Villarreal 0-0 Real Madrid

A lovely solo run from Adrian Lopez on the left. His attempted shot/cross to the far corner is headed behind for a corner.

The set-piece is played to the edge of the area and easily cleared by Real.

Villarreal look rather potent on both wings.

    Villarreal 0-0 Real Madrid

    Great defending by Mario Gaspar.

The Villarreal right-back tracks Cristiano Ronaldo who was fed a through-ball in the box by the influential Luka Modric.

Worth reminding all that the The Yellow Submarine have the meanest defence in La Liga - only 15 goals conceded so far.

Just picture an Arjen Robben goal, but from the left wing and you can see Radja Nainggolan's brilliant opener for Roma.

The Belgian midfielder gets the ball, cuts inside and absolutely screams an effort into the top corner.

    Villarreal 0-0 Real Madrid

What a superb jinking run on the right by Manu Trigueros.

The Villarreal midfielder lays a pass to full-back Mario Gaspar who manages to dig the ball out from under his foot and toe-punt a firm rising shot which is pushed away by Keylor Navas.

    Inter Milan 0-0 Roma

Confusion at the San Siro as Ivan Perisic flicks the ball up onto his head to head the ball back to his keeper, who picks the ball up. But you're not allowed to do that and he's booked.

The Croat was very much not aware of the rules there.

Indirect free-kick to Roma, but it's cleared.

    Villarreal 0-0 Real Madrid

Great play by Real on the right ends with Luka Modric's attempted square ball coming off him and out of play via the block of the tracking Bruno Soriano.

Good defending Bruno. Real on the front foot. Naturally.

Villarreal who defeated Roma 1-0 on Thursday (although they were knocked out of the Europa League after the Italians beat them 4-0 in the first leg) will no doubt give Real a tough test.

Coach Fran Escriba said: "We trust in our possibilities and we want to win to achieve our objectives.

"Real Madrid are always the favourites in every game they play, but we've always competed well against the big sides and I have faith that we will have our chances to win."

We will also be bringing you updates from Italy as Inter Milan face second-placed Roma.

Roma can slightly narrow the gap on leaders Juventus to seven points if they win.

Inter would move up to fourth, three points off the Champions League places if they succeed today.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, it's all been kicking off outside the San Siro before kick-off...

    Marseille v PSG (20:00 GMT)

Marseille have a few former Premier League players in their line-up today, most notably Dimitri Payet and Patrice Evra.

Clinton N'Jie, on loan from Tottenham, and Florian Thauvin, who is still technically a Newcastle player, also start.

Plenty of attacking talent in the PSG team, but Angel di Maria is on the bench.
